What makes some people, particularly family members on the dole, wanting to tear apart those
family members who are more accomplished and successful?
This could be a form of jealousy. Wanting what some one else has. Reference Bible Pr 14:30 A calm heart is the life of the fleshly organism, but jealousy is rottenness to the bones. This points out how deep the problem can be . Also noted was bitterness in connection in ref to this negative state of mind.
It's a two way street. Having famous relatives myself, one thing that happens is their attitude changes. Due to wealth, world travel and media attention, they look at you like you want something from them. They can no longer be just a friend. They are moving in circles with other world famous people and they don't want you around them. They become ashamed of their families no matter how good they are. Then when you become wealthy, suddenly they want to know you again. By then, you see right through them. So there is no loyalty. The friendship is based on the class system, at least for some famous people.
I agree with Sri T this is sad but true money changes people some for the worse. There are wealthy people in my family.Big time Ceo's we barly hear from them, we are so distant that you would not know they are physically brothers. Money is family
