I live in the state of georgia and my family is friends with this guy who has 25% of his check garnished by child support. Today he just recieved another garnishment from an eviction and it was for 25% by law can 50% of his check be taken like that?
The worse part is they take the percentage of the gross out of the net so if someone made $10.00 an hour for 40 hours the garnishment would be $200.00 out of his net of like $325 leaving him $125.00 for a 40 hour week.
Why Bother!!
Where I am at, in Wyoming, I believe anything over $8.50/hour can be garnished.
I don't know how it varies from state to state, but yes, the maximum amount that can be garnished from a paycheck is quite high.

Okay, I reached my first $100 payout at the end of OCt, so I should get a check by the end of this month. When do I get another check? DO I have to do anything more, or it will it be sent automatically now? Will it be once a month, or only for the months when $100 was reached? Tank U!!
