Has the status of God declined due to Coronavirus?

No, God's status has increased. He is fed up with climate change and has decided to do something about it. What's the best way to fix climate change? Kill off as many humans as possible. My guess is that He's just getting started.

Seems easier, and quicker, to just send in a dinosaur killer asteroid.  Earth recovered from one, it can do so again.

Too easy. God wants to have fun.

You may be right.  What is life without a little amusement?

He also might be trying to be more selective as to who He exterminates.

If there is a god, (which I don't believe) then s/he is a cruel, sadistic s.o.b.!

"Is god willing to prevent evil, but not able?
    Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
    Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
    Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him 'god?' "  --  Epicurius (340 BCE - 270 CE)

"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful." -- Seneca the Younger,  c. 4 BCE-65 CE

"It is only by dispelling the clouds and phantoms of religion that we shall discover Truth, Reason, and Morality."  -- Baron d'Holbach

"I distrust those people who know so well what god wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires." --  Susan B. Anthony

"Religion is an advertising campaign for a product that doesn't exist."  --  Clive Jones

Whatever God is, I believe He considers us lab rats to be experimented with. And He certainly doesn't care about collateral damage.
