   How does one's family size, education, & socioeconomic class determine what type of parent h/she will become?   Why people who come from small families make more loving, involved, & conscientious parents while people who come from large families make less loving, more punitive, less caring, & more distant parents?   For example, parents who come from small families invest in their children & plan for their socioeconomic & educational legacy.  They know that parenting is beyond giving birth & providing the rudiments. 
   
   
   Parents from large families could care less about their children's socioeconomic & educational legacy.  To them, parenting is just giving birth &  providing the bare rudiments, if that.  In large families, living a hardscrabble existence is quite commonplace.  Parents of large families cannot adequate provide for their children hence dependence on outside assistance is a lifestyle.   Typical large families are assisted by outside charities to stay afloat.   There is a correlation between large families & poverty.  Yes, large families can be categorized by poverty.    Small families are less likely to be impoverished, in fact, small families can be categorized as affluent because their parents use family planning whereas parents of large families irresponsibly have children.
   
   Parents of small families are adult in their role as parents whereas parents of large families are more childlike in that they expect their children to raise themselves, even other children.  They also expect their children to help provide financial support.  They are very nonchalant as to whether their children have the necessities or not.  To them, cultural & intellectual stimulation are moot issues.  To parents of large families, poverty is normative & to be expected while parents of small families believe in providing their families w/a comfortable, cultivated standard of living.
