How do you stretch your teaching budget?

   I am wondering how fellow teachers are stretching their budgets these days.  Have suggestions?  Please feel free to share.  Thanks so much!

      First off I think the best thing you need to do is identify your fixed expenses that you need to cover e.g. Rent/ Mortgage, loan payments, cable etc. Then Identify those expenses which vary (variable expenses) with usage lights, phone, grocery bill etc. Assess your variable expenses and decide if you could reduce some of those expenses. E.g. reduce the number of luxury items you buy at the grocery like snacks etc. You may not need so many snacks or any at all. Furthermore try preparing home cooked meals versus buying your meals, its cheaper.
      
      Also you can reduce your leisure activities which require spending funds and go hang out with the friends and play some really cool games that cost no money at all. 
      
      Ultimately simply identify those expenses for the servcies that you need and identify areas where feasible and possible to cut the volume of usage or purchase. Hopes this helps.

      Get your parents involved. No matter what economic status they may have, they may be one of your greatest resources.
