1997-2001: My High School Music Mix CD Song List

Your favorite songs will change throughout your life. The songs that were important to you in high school will stick with you in a way that no other music quite will. High school is such a formative time in our lives. There is a certain nostalgia about the things that we associate with that time. Music is definitely a part of this nostalgia.

I created this mix of music from my high school years while I was in college. I continue to use this mix as a gift for similar aged friends from time to time. It works well for anyone who was in high school during the later 90's/early new millennium even if the exact years don't quite sync up with mine. Enjoy.

      I just haven't been in the area long enough to really know if there is truth to that. I'll keep my ears open. Red Hot Chili Peppers is definitely on my all-time favorite list, too, along with many others. Take care and talk to you again soon. Thank you!

      He and his immediate family act like he is a superstar up there. I know he sings gospel, but they are probably blowing smoke up, well you know where. This was fun. It brought back some great memories. Scar Tissue by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is another one I remember. I could go on and on. Well I am off to bed.       Thanks! I'm glad that you enjoyed this. The late 90s were definitely a great time for music. Some of my favorite music today is still music from that time period.

      I just moved to Milwaukee in June and am not familiar with Ben Vance. I'll keep my ears open for his name, though.

      Up, useful, interesting, and awesome. Those were the exact years of my high school. So crazy. I graduated in 2001. That was a great time for music. Some of the best music created was at that time. I liked "Last Kiss" Pearl Jam, I loved Wonderful, "Higher and Arms Wide Open" by Creed, that graduation song by Vitamin C, "Time of Your Life" by Green Day. I am not sure if that title is right. I believe it is called something else. I am trying to think. I like that 2001 Chronic by Dr. Dre. 3 6 mafia, late night tip. I enjoy all genres. This was a great hub because it brings great memories. Ohh, Uncle Kracker "Follow Me", not sure if that is title either. I love music. I have wrote lyrics since I was 5 and doing that is my dream. I sure hope to make it one day. I wonder if you know my cousin, Ben Vance? He is from that area or near it. He sings at the fairs and acts like he is famous in that area. Just wondering. Will check back with you. This was great. It is amazing how music can bring this special feeling. I am voting beautiful and funny too. It was that great!
