Another Great Movie that NEVER got the Hype. Final Shot-The Hank Gathers Story

In 1988 a little known college basketball team named the Lions of Loyola Mary-mount , brought in 2 transfers from from the U. of Southern California. Bo Kimble and his best friend, the Hardwood Great, Hank Gathers, changed college basketball, even if just for a while. Hank was expected to be the number 1 pick in the N.B.A. Draft, over Derek Coleman, and Kenny Anderson later that year.

Final Shot tells the story of Hank's rise and fall. Nell Carter, George Kennedy,Victor Love, and Duane Davis were all outstanding in this. This movie has been sadly over looked. I found it to be an excellent character study and a must see. Hank was a rising star and the end of his story was a far too tragic one. Don't miss this moving story of a great player and an ever greater person.
