Best Vocalists of the 80's,90's,00's and Beyond Part 6
Welcome one and all to my Best Vocalists of the 80',90's,00's and Beyond series Part 6. If you haven't seen the other AMAZING vocalists of past lists follow these links. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5. The list so far has had R&b singers, Gospel Singers, Soul Singers, and Latin Singers. I want to make these lists as culturally diverse as possible because honestly these are extraordinary talents that deserve the exposure. I happen to listen to music in different languages, none of which I speak, except for spanish, but I believe Music is universal and it's not always the language in which it is sung but the emotion behind the voice that counts.
On with the list!
26. Beyoncé
Who doesn't know Beyoncé? One third of the famous all girl group Destiny's child, She rose to fame as the central figure of the group. Not only is she a singer/songwriter but an amazing vocalist, trained in Opera. She's considered the hardest working woman in show biz. She is amazing to watch on stage, as she dances and sings with out a hitch. She has also been in a few films, her most famous being Dream Girls alongside Oscar winner and fellow vocalist, Jennifer Hudson. She married rapper Jay-Z and is now expecting her first child.
27. Jojo
Jojo!! For a kid to be that talented at 13 is crazy and amazing in my opinion. The first time I heard her live, was on MTV during it's TRL days. She was singing "Get Out(Leave)" and I couldn't help thinking wow! Such a mature voice for someone her age. She could put so many older singers to shame! In recent years, she's had a falling out with her record label but that seems to have blown over and now she's part of Interscope. She's in the process of making finishing touches to her third album. Jojo is also an actress and has been part of a few films and made guest appearances on several television shows.
28. Alejandro Fernandez
This Mexican crooners last name is famous. He is a legacy in the Latin music world. With millions of albums sold world wide and many public romances, he's staple in any Spanish household. He did a theme song with Beyoncé for a Spanish soap opera called Gitana. I heard him live in concert with Marc Anthony and WOW What a voice!
29. Laura Pausini
Let me tell you something about this artist right here. She can do no wrong. Not only is she an amazing vocalist but an exceptional songwriter. Every song I've ever heard from her is pure perfection. This Italian singer is loved in Latin America and Europe, selling out concerts with her diverse arsenal of music. She speaks Spanish, English and Italian.
30. Natalia Jimenez
As front woman of the Spanish group La 5a Estacion (the fifth station), Natalia Jimenez is a force to be reckoned with. Her powerhouse vocals always give me chills! La 5a Estacion has won Latin Grammy's as well as collaborated with singers like Marc Anthony and Ricky Martin.
