Boyce Avenue: My Tribute
Boyce Avenue: Continuing The Series
In continuation with the series on Cover Artists, I have chosen to dedicate this next tribute to the group Boyce Avenue. Unlike the last tribute I gave to Sam Tsui, this group has performed many original songs as well. But, their Music Covers are the songs I would like to introduce you to in this hub.
Before I share their music and background, I feel compelled to speak to all of you women out there! Many a lady have found this group of guys to be quite attractive; so I am warning you before you listen to their videos! All right, now that I have made that clear, I hope you enjoy this tribute to Boyce Avenue, a music band that has warmed my heart over the past few months. All I can say is that I wish I had found them out sooner! So, I am doing my duty by getting their name out to all of my friends!
Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, and cats and dogs(have I left anyone out?), I present to you Boyce Avenue!
A Video Sample For You To Enjoy
For this Cover Artist, I am going to start off by sharing a sample of their Cover Music before I delve into their background and career. This is best way I can convey to you how truly amazing this group is. Their ability to beautifully portray themselves through music is obviously noticeable in any of their songs
So here you a go, a glimpse into the beauty that is Boyce Avenue!
Just To Give You A Taste Of Their Music!
Boyce Avenue: Background
Before I mention the history of this group, I feel that is important to mention that this group consists of three brothers, Alejandro, Fabian and Daniel Manzano.
Boyce Avenue is a music group based out of Sarasota, Florida. Their "humble beginnings" took place back in the year of 2000 when Alejandro(14) and Fabian(16) took up guitar together. A few months later, they joined their older brother Daniel(20) and sang at Pine View High School in front of a 350 person crowd. This marked the beginning of several concerts they would hold there, the school that they attended growing up.
In the years to follow, Boyce Avenue was split up because of different college locations and then reunited back in 2005 when they played their final concert at Pine View. Following the reunion, Boyce Avenue recorded three singles at Nickel and Dime Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. At the end of 2007, they had recorded their first music album.
This brings us to their debut on YouTube, the year of 2007. And as they say, The rest is history!
Below Is Another Amazing Video
This video is a cover of One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful". In my Music Cover's Hub, I stated that Cover Artists will usually sing the song in a different style. I mentioned that this is one of the many reasons why I enjoy Music Covers, because it provides me with a change is musical scenery. This song below does that exact thing.
I love One Direction and their ability to draw in the teenage audience with their pop sound. However, Alejandro's ability to change the style of this song and make it romantic is undeniably impeccable/flawless! Listen for yourself!

This is special for Boyce Avenue, because it is the first song Alejandro ever wrote! This is a truly beautiful song and goes to show that this group is good at singing both Music Covers and their own music!
What Did You Think Of Boyce Avenue?
Boyce Avenue: The Glimpse
Well, there you have it! A glimpse into the Cover Artist Band Boyce Avenue! Like I mentioned earlier, I really wish I have found these guys sooner. They have warmed their way into my heart and I would not be surprised if they quickly take the place of my most favorite Cover Artist on YouTube!
Why do I enjoy listening to this group? I love their ability to change the style of the music they sing. I also admire them for all of the original music they sing as well. Since this is a Music Cover Hub, I chose not to add a video on one of their original songs. However, I have a added a link to the right which is Boyce Avenue's original song, "Find Me".
I hope you have enjoyed the second Cover Artist in this series of Music Covers! Boyce Avenue is a gifted group with a powerful voice and talented musicians. I hope you do find some time to listen to more of their music! Have a great day friends, and when you get a chance, you should make a playlist of Boyce Avenue Music!
Another Solo By Alejandro Manazo! (Goose Bumps)

I love the cover of "What makes you beautiful". I think it's way better of the original. Good hub! Voted up!
Great group of brothers in arms. Love this Manzano family. Like many have said it. We start to listen to artists that are trying to make it like the others already on the spotlight
Well I get goose bumps at the thought of this Manzano boy thinking I am pretty with no makeup on...young forever?
OK, I shall be looking into these talented voices, you sold me! Voted UP and UABI. Now I am feeling kinda caught up with my new favorite series. Hugs, Maria
Josh, no wonder the girls are taken with the Boyce Avenue brothers. I had never heard of them but their music is beautiful and the lyrics even more.
It is an amazing gift a guy gives a girl when he tells her of his love and communicates how much he values her. I have been blessed by such a man and ache for some of the beautiful women I know who never hear an affirmation from their man.
Thanks for sharing this group .. Love their music and their hearts. Up and beautiful.
Blessing to you Josh,
Mekenzie
These guys are amazing, and I'm sure they would love your tribute to them. Well done ^_^ I especially like when they collaborate with other cover artists on youtube.
I first head Boyce Avenue about six months ago. They were so great that I listened to their YouTube channel non-stop for what seems now like weeks :) Great choice buddy. You also highlight some great points about them. I share and vote up too!
I heard this group before and I agree that they are great singers with a positive future.
Us "old folks" certainly enjoy your youth and enthusiasm. You're keeping us current on things we may not have known about. This is a great hub and I admire your goal of getting lesser known groups some acknowledgement. Your writings are proving some of them are better than what is on the air!
Voted up, useful, and interesting.
K. I'll have to check the links. I don't have an IPod. My son does, but I'm still behind the times!
Josh, when I first read this hub, I was at work, so I couldn't play the video. It's playing now as I write this.
This guy is awesome! My favorite instrament is the piano because it needs no accompaniment; it's got treble and bass all wrapped up in the beautiful black and ivory keys. I used to play piano. I was taught by a concert pianist when I was in grade school. I can read music. Years ago I bought an old upright from a thrift store I paid $250 for it. It had a couple of keys that stuck (C and E - can't do without those!) and it needed tuned. I had someone come out to tune it. As for the keys that stuck, they had to be sent to Chicago to be re-strung, as they were original to the piano and they don't make them anymore. Come to find out, it's a 1936 Sterling! Holy Mackeral, what a find!
Anyway, I no longer have the fluidity of recognition of the written notes to my brain to my fingers; I have to think about it. One of my other dreams, in addition to writing full time, is to take refresher lessons so I can regain the recognition/fluidity and play, play play!
When I quit lessons (I was 9, rebellious and didn't want to practice an hour every day, just cuz mom said to. Truth be told, I cut my nose off to spite my face. ( I loved playing, but didn't like for it to be regimented by mom's dictate). When I quit, at age 9, I could play Beethovan's Fur Elise by memory (it's 4 pages of sheet music!). Yes, I read music, but I loved it so much and played it so much, I didn't need the music. Today, I can only play the first 5 or 6 bars from memory.
K. I'm rambling again. Anyway, this guy, Alejandro Manazo, has a voice that complements the piano and vice versa. He doesn't need guitar, electrics or drums. The simplicity of his voice coupled with the totality of the piano truly make beautiful music!
Where did you find them? Do they have CD's available for purchase? You've really got a "thang" goin' on here, Fairy Godson! You might want to think about finders fees for the bands you introduce to this vast community. It can only further the careers of these struggling artists. One day, they'll owe their fame to you!
Hi Josh, isn't it amazing that a band can be so popular but not receive airtime today? I love this band. Thanks for introducing me to them. Voted up and beautiful and shared! Kelley
Voted up and interesting. Thanks for sharing Josh. My music knowledge is growing. Much enjoyed and passing this on.
Sirius-Lee (my Chinese cousin) how much are these guys paying you for this great review?
Great job, they are awesome, voted up.
They are awesome.. I would love to have that many likes.. great job Josh
love this hub
debbie
Great job again Josh. You are introducing us to all kinds of musicians! :)
The sound is great, but I guess what's considered "cute" varies with each generation. Frankly, I like hair that has room for my fingers and something on the face for me to play with. Just sayin'........
Hey Josh I never heard of Boyce Avenue, but nonetheless the tribute was generous :) Frank
I was pretty sure they were brothers before you told us...they sure look alike. Thanks for the videos; they really are pretty good. Nice job, Nephew, and thanks for introducing me to this group.
Good morning Josh! Oh, what an amazing and wonderful story! I LOVE that the three are brothers, and that, even after having been separated for scholastic reasons, they reunited and are FABULOUSLY talented and so successful!
Josh, your format here is perfect! I really find it so pleasing to read these "Cover Artist" hubs (well, 2 so far, now) because they are so interesting and I'm learning about artists I'd NEVER thought of..And..because of the lay out, too. You arrange the information, videos, "bullet" points and conclusion so well that, simply, reading your writing is FUN! All ups...well, not funny! Love the series, Josh! Go!
Josh....I need to thank you for bringing this fascinating series to us. I, especially, don't often have the chance to explore the newest, best and more popular music/groups arriving on the scene.......
This particular group of brothers is wonderful. .....the type of music I enjoy. What a talented group of beautiful kids ....their parents must be incredibly PROUD!.........UP++
Another great article on a cover group. I thoroughly enjoyed this one about Boyce Avenue. My MacBook was acting up with signing back into Hubpages, so I wasn't able to view the videos just yet on my IPad, but will take a look at them hopefully in a bit. Thanks for sharing about this group and I am really loving this series!! Voted and shared too :)
Great follow-up to your other cover artist hubs. This group is definitely good. I may just have to start checking out more cover artists myself.
Yay for the shout out to Sarasota, FL! These boys are divine and you were correct on the eye candy bit. They have a new fan. Me! Actually cover songs have a new fan due to your series. They actually sound better than Beebs! Well done Josh!
I like this band Josh - great job with this hub again :o), I love the really pared down version of Teenage Dream. It is very different isn't it? I think this is always a good sign with a vocalist or band, they make a song their own by giving us a completely different version. The fact that he is singing it live is also a sign of how good he is - wonderful.
I like their cover of Just the way you are better than Bruno's, Josh. He's got a really clear voice. A wonderful tenor. One of the best I've heard so far! Good that you've covered them. Great job.
Ah, the joys of today's technology! Great musicians like Boyce Avenue are now getting more reputation, views, likes, and followers :) Their cover of "Just the way you are" is definitely very good! I actually like this version better than the original! It's so dissonant, emotional, and heart-wrenching! It goes to show you don't have to be a songwriter to be a great musician :)
Great and informative Hub, Josh! I really enjoyed it :)
