The finale of season 2 of Falling Skies just aired and fans of the sci-fi show are left wondering so many things.

I know I am a huge fan of the show and I am left with so many options as to where the show could go. However, I know that the last thing I want to have to do is wait another year for 10 episodes of Falling Skies.

Seriously, that idea sucked last time around and I can't see it being any better this time around.

Well anyway, I thought I'd write out some theories and ideas I had about what's going to happen in season 3 of Falling Skies in 2013.

Some of these Falling Skies season 3 theories could come to pass and so they could actually become Falling Skies season 3 spoilers. We won't know until closer to the new season when TNT are kind enough to release promo's and previews to wet the viewers appetite once again. Until then, you can enjoy the thought process and logic of a dedicated Falling Skies fan.

There are new aliens in town in season 3 of Falling Skies. They just landed and are getting the lay of the land.

These aliens came in smaller spaceshuttles that held one of their kind. When the pod opened it contained a single alien species, that looked like it had just come from a Daft Punk convention.

When the alien helmet opened, we got to see the face of a new alien.

All of a sudden, I think it became clear why the Fish Heads had built a new weapon pointing at the sky. I have a feeling that this was intended for this new alien species or race that landed on earth at the end of season 2.

There are many questions popping up in the heads of Falling Skies fans all over the world.

1. Are these new aliens with the Fish Heads?
I don't think they are. I think they could be a foe of the Fish Heads. I really believe that they built the weapon pointing at the sky to try to kill as many of these aliens as possible before they could land. This makes we wonder if the Fish Head and these new aliens have history?

The rebelling Skitters have never mentioned any other planets or alien species. Is it possible that the Red Eye'd Skitter shared some of this information with Ben before he died? Is this why Ben suddenly went back on everything he said about how his place was with the Skitters and he wouldn't be coming back to live with the 2nd Mass or his human family?

2. Are these new aliens friend or foe?
Have the 2nd Mass simply made it easy for another alien race to conquer earth? Will these new enemies be friendly or deadly?

It seems strange that they would come down in single units, rather than land in giant spaceships or fire weapons from space?

Could they be alien Peacekeepers sent to punish the Fish Heads for the destruction of our planet?

Or are they supremely confident that they can beat the Fish Heads and that's why they come in single units?

I wonder if they have better weapons and technology?

I remember back to the end of season 1 when the aliens were trying to fix the mothership with some scrap metal. Their ships didn't really seem as advanced as I would have expected from a supreme alien race. Are they already at war with another alien species, perhaps the one that landed on earth?

3. How will these new aliens communicate with the 2nd Mass and the rest of humanity?
How are the 2nd Mass going to communicate with these new alien beings? Will Ben be needed again? What will this alien say when he talks with the 2nd Mass?

4. What are we going to call these new aliens?

SInce Falling Skies won't be back until 2013, here's some other shows you might like to tune into in the meantime. You might like these as they are also sci-fi/fantasy genre shows.

Falling Skies Season 3 Theories

The more I think about it, the more I wonder how many alien species there are out there in Falling Skies.

So far, we have met at least 3 different types of alien. Perhaps the harness is even a type of alien that the Fish Heads have figured out how to use as a communication and controlling device. It could even be something as simple as a fish on their planet.

Although there have been some answers in Falling Skies so far there have been more and more questions.

I am starting to wonder if there is an inter-planetary war going on out in the recesses of space?

Are the Fish Heads a conquering species? Do they go from planet to planet, preying on those with the best resources and then convert the inhabitants as their slaves and soldiers so they don't have to risk their necks in the next planetary take over?

Or are they also hunted and are just looking to replenish troops from other planets in a war that they are not winning?

Has their world been destroyed and they are looking for a new place to call home? Perhaps our planet isn't suitable and is simply a stopping off point as they need to refuel and need resources to continue on the journey?

However, throughout the whole series I am left wondering why they didn't destroy the whole population? Which makes me think they need bodies or perhaps soldiers for something? I also wonder why they haven't taken what they want and left? Basically, why are they still here?

Are the 2nd Mass going to regret destroying the alien weapon? Will it become a case of "better the devil you know" or "the enemy of my enemy is my friend?"

Perhaps we'll get some answers to these questions in season 3 of Falling Skies.
