How Lady Gaga is Changing the Face of Music

Updated on January 27, 2017

Are you a House of GaGa Fan?

Well interestingly enough Lady Gaga is an international artist, performer and a brand that is changing the way we see the music world.

Some would argue that she is just rehashing what has already been done, with comparisons to Madonna.

The one thing that is apparent is that she is the new generation of self expression through more than just music, it has become a lifestyle.

I will not bore you with all the details of Gaga's life and career because you have probably already heard it a thousand times on the internet but one thing you will agree with is that she knows how to use controversy to get media attention.

Why Lady Gaga is Helping the Music Industry take risks

Well it is because her fans are different. Teens and Pop Star followers of today are born into a fast paced information overload generation. In order for performers to compete with the demands of instant music downloads and the immediate gratification of Youtube they must stand out.

Lady Gaga Is the Highest Paid Musician According to Forbes

I just saw the list of the top 25 highest paid musicians in a special report from Forbes. It is awesome to see her up there with the likes of Elton John.

I have to say I am not surprised considering all the media attention she has been getting lately not to mention the outrageous outfits and award show antics.

She came on the scene in 2008 with the success of her Fame album with such hits as Poker Face and Just Dance.

Number one is U2 at $195 Million with sold out tours across the world

Number two is Bon Jovi at $125 Million and they definitely have been entertaining audiences for two decades.

Number three is Elton John at $100 Million his to me was the biggest surprise but I guess he is still doing his thing.

Number four is Lady Gaga at $90 Million the hot musical icon at the moment and she is just getting started.

Number Five is Michael Buble at $70 Million he is a canadian singer selling 35 million albums worldwide.

Lady Gaga is taken over the world and her fans are right in the front row cheering her on.

Not only does Lady Gaga stand out from the crowd, she is yelling a very loud message. Her songs encourage individuality and that being different is okay.

This is something that young impressionable minds cling too, because they are going through so many changes physically and mentally that they need some validation that they are accepted.

Mainstream media does not hold to the same message. They instead make people feel inferior and less than worthy of attention.

The world pushes people into molds and stereo types and if they do not become a plastic unrealistic clone they are not accepted but instead they are readily rejected, mocked and humiliated.

Who has not at some point in their lives felt different and outside of the box, well this new generation feels that way all the time. They do not hold to the same values or morals that their parents or grandparents once did.

It is a new world that they live in, so for a Pop Icon such as Lady Gaga to come along and embrace this generation is why she has such a huge following.

Social Media Tools and Celebrities

Twitter is How Celebrities Communicate with their Fans

Lady Gaga is in her early 20's and she has contributed much to her own self image and how she wants to represent her performance art on stage.

Just look at her twitter page and she is the number one celebrity artist with 10 million twitter followers and counting.

It seems to be very important for celebrities to build up and connect with their fan base on a daily minute by minute basis.

By doing this it creates a strong bond that grows into its own community allowing for greater marketing influence that the industry has never seen before.

Having the natural ability to give of herself to her fans is what endears her to the many millions of people who buy her music and attend her concerts.

You can see how her fans want to be like her because they come dressed up at her concerts across the globe to be accepted for being an oddball in society.

The Music Industry is taking notice

Proof that she is on to something is that you will notice a change among other popular iconic music artist. Now all of mainstream singers and musicians want to wear colorful costumes on stage.

We see singers that are creating their own genre so as to not be boxed into the industry standard.

Many artists are taking risks with their wardrobe and even with how they wear their hair. I think Lady Gaga had something to do with this change in the music industry.

Media is big business and those who are not afraid to be innovative will reap the reward of increased popularity and power of influence.

Lady Gaga Million Dollar Touch leads to 17 Million Twitter Followers

Just as we have been seeing more of Lady Gaga.

You can now buy her music at Starbucks, Amazon and Listen on Farmville.

The social media queen reached over 17 million twitter followers.

She is also helping the music industry sell more music by thinking out of the box.

Lady Gaga No. 1 on Forbes for her social status beating out Oprah Winfrey.

that alone is making a big statement for the future of music and social media.

The face of Google Chrome Laptops and her own Polaroid Glasses and Signature headphones.

Which is the beginning of her world domination.

Her connection with literally millions of fans makes her a good candidate for million dollar endorsement deals.

She can reach a wider audience of potential customers for big brands.

Corporations can see the benefit of having celebrities and solo artists represent their products.

Who is better to use since the consumer generation is online using twitter and facebook.

Not to mention heavily attached to taking photos and sending out tweets, sharing every action they encounter.

Intimate interview with Gaga on MTV "Inside the Outside" Special

The global pop superstar journey to pop music had many who did not know who the real lady gaga was got a glimpse into her life growing up in Manhattan. The hour long special had me almost wanting to cry when she discussed her experiences with being bullied in school.

It is the bravery in her voice and her unending desire to be successful that keeps the hope alive for many aspiring dancers, performers and singers who can relate to this style icons journey.

Many new monsters were gained after watching the documentary that exposed gaga's career and struggles. She was never quite accepted for being "different".

Now she had a chance to be the mouthpiece and the role model to many who are searching for their true identity.

All I can say is after watching the special I was inspired, Stefani Germanotta known as mama monster was able to translate how the musical influence of her parents made such an impact on her life.

Stevie wonder, and the Beatles being the first records she received, from learning to play the piano to singing with a voice coach. It made me want to reach higher and seek new goals to achieve.

Gaga Gender Bender

Just when you thought you had seen all the outrageous things that the "House of Gaga" could put out for her fans, she does something really different.

Yes she transforms herself into a Man for the cover of Vogue. Lady Gaga explains that her male alter ego is named: Jo Calderone.

Who in my opinion could pass as her twin brother, the photos came out great. Love the hair!

The interesting thing about the magazine is that it is a mens magazine and according to the editor-in-chief Kazuhiro Saito, Japanese men are among the world's most stylish.

That would mean that the Vogue Hommes Japan issue will be a forward-thinking menswear catalog.
