Idol: 2nd and 3rd times around
Controlled and not much different than past years
Idol
continued early auditions on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Screamers, cryers, people who can actually sing a little and some who could sing a lot came out in Milwaukee and in Nashville. Nothing unusual went down. There were a few outstanding performers but, the most
interesting part to me, was watching the judges evolve.
No big surprise
It’s
no big surprise to me that Steven Tyler has emerged as the dominant judge so far. He’s the brilliant lead singer song writer and front man for Aerosmith and his personality comes through loud and strong. I find him to be the most interesting of the three judges.
Randy is still the same ole Randy...that loveable dawg, capable of spotting and working with all kinds of talent.
Jennifer
Lopez has been extremely low-keyed. Her judging instincts appear to be right on and she has gotten over that first reticence about saying no...even if the contestant resorts to tears and begging. I don’t think she is completely relaxed and herself yet. We’re only seeing the sweet, capable, friendly side of her at this point.
We
all know there’s a whole other side to JLo...earthy, sexy and funny. It’s be interesting to watch and see how and if her total persona is revealed as the weeks go by. She’s a fantastic performer, so in this particular venue I hardly see that innate musical energy of hers staying
at bay.
Lauren Alaina
The
final contestant of the evening, last night was a fifteen-year-old girl
who blew everyone away including me "I think we found The One today," Steven Tyler said, moments after he left day two of Season 10’s Nashville auditions. “We found her. Oh, yeah, we did....She is beyondo cute.” Watch the video below and see what you think.
