This morning, I got my computer booted up early so I could start writing on my four blogs, etc. and stopped to take a look at what was going on in the news. The first thing that caught my eye was a photo of Lady Gaga dressed like a man. Intrigued, I clicked on the photo and was completely mesmerized by what I saw.

This woman is amazing. When she first hit the music scene, in her own over-the top fashion, viewers didn't know what to make of her...weird outfits, strange and colorful hairdos, and performances that reeked of sex. And they kept getting weirder and sexier. But with each performance her audiences, and those who would in general not be part of her audiences (that would me me), started noticing her talent as a singer and her brilliance as a performer.

She certainly situated herself into the right venues and we started getting used to her and maybe even looked forward to her unique weirdness. She's been on just about every talk show there is, given interviews that demonstrated her intelligence, been a mentor on American Idol , and a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance and is continually asked to be part of important musical events, where she always gives a strong, unique, and very physical performance combining unusual vocals with dance and theatrical contexts.

Granted, some of her performances, remarks, and innuendos are a bit raunchy. But, if you can look past that, she's rather amazing. And this latest VMA performance appears to be a stretch which demonstrates to her followers and others that there's a lot more to her than meets the eye. I am, at this moment, not sure of the significance of this performance but I am sure that the answer will come out as soon as people start speculating.

I have to say Lady Gaga is very talented and creative. She has a style of her own that some critize but this is what keeps people interested in her. I found your hub very interesting and thanks for sharing.

Voted up, beautiful, and awesome. Lady Gaga rocks the house. I saw her performance and it was great! She is creative as they come. I am glad you saw her good qualities and pointed them out. She is a true artist Alekhouse. Very good review. She has a big heart and people tend to look over that. She gives back to the community. Great review.

Hi, Alec - what an amazing talent she is, a real artist. It seems like she blended Cher and Madonna, and took the concept to a whole new level, to a place they really wanted to be but lacked the over-the-top creative factor. Lady Gaga is fascinating.

Okay, though I don't really know much about this lady, you have stirred my curiosity. I hear nothing but rave reviews about her talents.

@VioletSun...I experienced her the same way...not liking her too much at first. But she has really grown on me. However, she has really over saturated the entertainment world lately.

@tsmog Yeah, I would say she or someone close to her is a marketing whiz. In heard her say that her background was in theater.

@drbj I wouldn't have seen the video if I hadn't checked out the news on the internet this morning. Guess she really made an impression.

At first I didn't like Lady Gaga, but after listening to her in interviews where she shares she was bullied in school, and listening to her song "Born This Way" I have grown to like her, admire her talent, even shared her Yotube in Facebook a few weeks ago.

My hat is off to lady gaga. Reading about her humble beginnings in music then followed by her transformation is amazing. One would say whatever sabbatical she took in between those she must have studied marketing. It would be interesting to understand what motivated her.

Lady Gaga is the consummate showman . . . or showgirl . . . whichever! And she does know how to pique our interest.

I missed that show; thanks for this newsflash.

I'm not really a fan of modern music, but your article has peaked my interest. Now I'm going to have to check her out. :)
