Inazuma VS Ukitake

Updated on March 29, 2014

Inazuma left the New Kama Land to recruit more pirates to join their group. He set off to a nearby island just to find out that all the inhabitants were missing. His crew searched everywhere but found no one. His suspicion that something extra-ordinary is happening even grew after he found a man with long, white hair wearing a weird outfit. Inazuma is not a violent person in nature. However, the weight fellow suddenly attacked him! His face was revealed after launching a furious attack using his two blades. Without a doubt, he is Ukitake Jushiro, a Captain of the 13 protection squad. Why is he attacking Inazuma? Is he the one to blame why no one can be found in the island? Inazuma is deeply confused about the possible reason why a stranger suddenly attacked him but he certainly won't give up without a fight.

Occupation: Revolutionary Member

Affiliations: Revolutionary Army, New Kama Land, Kamabakka Kingdom

Age: Unknown

Birthday: Unknown

Hieght: Unknown

Famous Quote: None

Strength: Inazuma is a promising character. He ate the Choki Choki No Mi Fruit which gave him the power to transform any part of his body into a pair of scissors. With these tools, he can cut anything and treat it as paper. This weird ability helped Monkey D. Luffy escape from Impel Down. Although most of us would assume that his devil fruit ability alone made Inazuma a formidable opponent, it's pretty obvious in the series that he values his friends as well. He was even poisoned while protecting Monkey D. Luffy and Ivankov when their group was escaping Impel Down.

Weakness: Like any other Devil Fruit user, Inazuma's main weakness is the sea since he can't swim. Moreover, his ability is also dependent on his speed. He will definitely have a hard time fighting with a fast enemy who can stop him from cutting anything in the area. We can also consdier his costume as a weakness since it can greatly affect his mobility.

Fighting Techniques: The series never gave Inazuma so much exposure. Nevertheless, we are well aware that he can use anything he cuts as a weapon, shield or pathway. HIs fighting style is very straightforward which made his moves very predictable. Nevertheless, any opponent will definitely have a hard time defending against his Devil Fruit Ability

Ukitake Jushiro

Occupation: Shinigami

Affiliations: Captain of the 13th Division

Age: Unknown

Birthday: December 21

Hieght: 187 cm (6'1½")

Famous Quote: "All Waves, Rise now and Become my Shield, Lightning, Strike now and Become my Blade"

Strength: Ukitake uses two swords in battle. This is somehow a disadvantage since two are better than one in terms of speed. However, the difference in power can be observed since attacks from a sword using one hand won't be as strong compared if done with two hands. His zanpakotou's bankai form is still unknown which can be considered one of his strength. He is decently fighting enemies with his sword's shikai form so we can only imagine ho he can pulverize them with his bankai. He is also strong enough to stand for what he believe is right. With his determination and strong will to protect soul society, Ukitake is definitely a Captain worth watching for during any battle.

Weakness: By simply looking at his physique, one can easily tell that he is sickly. In fact, there was a certain point in the series where he was ill and can't attend a meeting of the 13 Protection Squad captains. His weak body is probably the main weakness that every enemy can exploit against him. In addition, he also appreciate life and would rather negotiate and convince an enemy to stop his pointless actions other than to eliminate him at once.

Fighting Techniques: The shikai form of his zanpakotou is very interesting. It involves two blades connected with a thin red rope. The left sword mainly acts as a tool that absorbs any blast an enemy may throw at him. It then travels to the right sword through the rope and lighting the charms in the process, The absorbed power is amplified and given a boost in speed as well making it close to impossible for the enemy to dodge it. This fighting style is very effective for enemies who prefer distant battles. Nevertheless, it is completely useless against those who likes to bring the fight at close range.

Inazuma fought back to defend himself. He used his ability to cut the ground throwing sheets of rock and soil towards Ukitake. With Ukitake's shikai ability, he absorbed everything and threw it back to Inazuma. It resulted to a very huge explotion which engulf almost the entire island with smoke. As it clears, Inazuma can't stand straight as his left leg ended up badly hurt. Ukitake hesitated to deliver the finishing blow. Just like what Inazuma suspected, someone is controlling Ukitake. He wants to help the Shinigami in overcoming the true villain but his body started to feel heavy. Before he knew it, he slowly fell off his feet and saw nothing but the sky until he passed out.

Inazuma found himself treated and covered with bandages inside a room. He went outside and found all the villagers and the whole town restored. Ukitake greeted him afterward. The two of them shook hands as if nothing happened. Ukitake explained his side. A shinigami with a power to control one's mind used him as a puppet. Although he was controlled, Ukitake can still see and feel on his own and seeing how compassionate Inazuma is during their battle gave them enough strength to overcome the mind control.

The Final Verdict:

Who should have won?

My point about a Bankai is this....Bankai is the "Trump Card" you use its to increase power, People like Ichigo, Byakuya have to use bankai, cause they need the power.

People like Urahara, Yammamoto, and The Senior Captains don't need it unless they're fighting someone who's extremely strong.. They're Shikai's are powerful enough. Putting them on another level.

Ichigo has no choice but to use bankai, he's faster yes, but still that's his last resort, look at how Shinji fought with GrimmJow.....Ichigo got trashed. but shinji fought him with no shikai or bankai.

Inazuma has the ability of steel scissor hands, not impressive, Ukitake has Kidou, Flash step and great swordsmanship, he would crush Inazuma

      Zaraki is a monster, unbelievable

Im going to check out Robo Cop vs Iron Man ...

That's the point. We don't really have an idea as to what Inazuma can do. I'm really curious about his ability (aside from his fashion). Looking at him reminds me of 2-face in Batman..hehe I really don't get your point about bankai not making a shinigami stronger. It does. Ichigo ends up faster and more skillful when using his bankai. Given Inazuma doesn't use long ranged shots like cero, that would mean Ukitake has nothing to redirect right? Kenpachi is the strongest in my opinion but he never fails to scare me with those killer eyes.

      God bless ^_^

We also haven't seen a bankai from Shinsui, Unahona, Yammamoto, Urahara, Shinji, and even Isshin and all the Vizards.

And the captains who are weaker usually crack out bankai the "first" chance they get ! Using Bankai does not make you powerful, its your final step in power. The seniors stand at the top, since were having this debate as well, what could Izazuma do ? cut him with scissors ?

Ukitake is fast, has kidou and has a powerful shikai that can shoot kidou and redirect cero blasts. He Shinsui and Unahona are the strongest captains

Inazuma is not that weak. We haven't seen his full potentials yet. Who knows how strong he is now after two years. If he trained as hard as Luffy, he will surely be a worthy opponent for Ukitake. On the other, It's true that Ukitake is a senior captain yet I never seen him brought out a bankai. I know he has something hidden on his sleeves making the battle even more interesting. I've never seen bleach for almost a month so I'll try to catch up. I hope Ukitake somehow used his bankai in the new episodes. Anyways, thank you for the comment.

Have a great day. God bless.

I think Ukitake will win. He hasn't even unleashed his Bankai yet, and he's already pretty strong.
