Ponderings: On Love

My Inspiration
In 2014, Jo_Goldsmith11 took it upon herself to initiate the Light2Love Project Good Words.
Jo pledged to use good words and publish articles used to empower, encourage, support and defend those who need to be shown love.
Jo offered us a good word for each week to focus our thoughts, behaviors and actions on...In the 1st week, Jo wrote her perspective on the word love.
However, as 2014 came to an end, Jo filed away her Good Word articles - as she begins the process of publishing it in e-book'. Shyron E. Shenko continues to write a beautiful poem to accompany each Good Word to inspire and lead us.
The ripple effect of the Good Words Project throughout the HubVille community has been heartwarming.
Please join me with some of my musical thoughts and reflections on the word love...
Love in Music
I understood music well before I understood love.
As a child of the 1960s, my home was filled with the London Beat and the British Invasion. I teethed on The Ed Sullivan Show and American Bandstand.
With a Georgia peach of a Momma, I know my fair share of Country Music and the Nashville Sound as we listened to The Grand Ole Opry and watched Hee Haw on television each week.
My Pop was a Railroad Conductor so I guess that explains my affinity for Soul Train...tunes such as Motown and R & B and Soul -- come to think of it, I still understand music more than I understand love...!
I can be anywhere, thinking of a person with love and a song will pop into my mind. This can include funerals, hospitals, weddings, all kinds of places. Some people I love have an actual song that I associate with them. They may / may not be aware of what that song is...!
Sometimes lyrics fly through my mind and it helps me just get centered...instead of, oh, perhaps inserting my foot in my mouth... :)
How about you? Are there any songs or lyrics that scream out LOVE to you...like these do to me? If so, please share YOURS in the comment section below... thanks, mar!
Love in Lyrics
I'm young, I know, but even so - I know a thing or two - And I learned from you (1) ... I'm not trying to make you feel uncomfortable - I'm not trying to make you anything at all - But this feeling doesn't come along everyday - And you shouldn't blow the chance - When you've got the chance to say (2) ... Once on a high and windy hill - In the morning mist - Two lovers kissed - And the world stood still - Then your fingers touched - My silent heart and taught it how to sing (3) ... Here, making each day of the year - Changing my life with a wave of her hand - Nobody can deny that there's something there (4)
The Beatles: "Here, There and Everywhere"
Lyrical Love
Believe me you really don't have to worry - I only want to make you happy (5) ... Bright are the stars that shine - Dark is the sky - I know this love of mine - Will never die - And I love her (6) ...
The Beatles: "And I Love Her"
Lyrics of Love
You gave me wings and made me fly - You touched my hand I could touch the sky - I lost my faith, you gave it back to me - You said no star was out of reach - You stood by me and I stood tall (7) ... If you wanted the moon - I would try to make a star - But I, would rather you let me give my heart (8) ... Whenever I'm alone with you - You make me feel like I am home again - Whenever I'm alone with you - You make me feel like I am whole again (9) ... Ran into a juke joint when I heard a guitar scream, - The notes were turning blue when I fell into a dream - As the music played I saw my life turn around - That was the day before (10) ... Sometimes I stare into space - Tears all over my face - I can't explain it - Don't understand it - I hadn't ever felt like this before - Now that funny feeling has me amazed - Don't know what to do - My head's in a haze (11) ... I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows - If I fail, if I succeed - At least I'll live as I believe - No matter what they take from me - They can't take away my dignity (12) ...You're asking me will my love grow - I don't know, I don't know - You stick around now it may show - I don't know, I don't know (13) ...

Speaking of Love...
Let's keep Project Good Words going... what do you say?
For my part, I'm going to keep going with my musical reflections. The way Jo and Shyron have been working steadily at their inspirations and poetry, I'd say I have my work cut out for me!
Fortunately for me, I love to challenge myself and I have some time between classes this summer so the timing is perfect!
And at the end of each of my musical reviews, I'm going to pass the Project Good Words baton to a dear friend in the Hubber community who emulates the Word of the day.
It should be no surprise that when I think of Love, my mind rushes to my soul mate, South African cyber-Sista, Martie Coetser.
Thanks for agreeing to accept the baton... I hope everyone has a chance to check out your fabulous hub as well.
