Neil Diamond To Tour Again

Updated on January 14, 2020

It has been six years or more since Neil Diamond the 69-year-old music legend has gone out on a tour. In February, 2011 Neil Diamond will tour throughout Australia and New Zealand.

This time Neil will be touring to promote his new album ‘Dreams’ to be released on October 29. Neil Diamond‘s new album Dreams is a 14-song collection of his own interpretations of his favorite songs from composers of the 60’s and 70’s.. Neil said he was doing this cover album now because “You never know how long you’ve got left and a lot of these songs that he loved have been waiting for him to record them for 40 years. But you can also expect that Neil Diamond will do a good number of his greatest hits in the Australia and New Zealand tour.

Neil interprets these songs in a very personal way because he personally admires the other composers, on his new soon to be out album, "Dreams, He picked these songs because of the songwriting qualities he admires most, while he also knew his vocals would reveal his deep felt connections to this music. He is very happy to have been able to record this album Dreams .

Dreams track listing:

1. Ain’t No Sunshine (Bill Withers)
2. Blackbird (The Beatles)
3. Alone Again (Naturally) (Gilbert O’Sullivan’s)
4. Feels Like Home (Randy Newman)
5. Midnight Train To Georgia (Gladys Knight)
6. I’m A Believer (The Monkees)
7. Love Song
8. Losing You (Randy Newman)
9. Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen)
10. A Song For You (Leon Russell)
11. Yesterday (ThaBeatles)
12. Let It Be Me (The Everly Brothers)
13. Desperado (the Eagles)
14. Don’t Forget Me (Harry Nilsson)

This is a singer's album as opposed to a writer's album, Neil didn't have to go through the anguish of writing these songs. They already exist and they're awesome songs. These songs left an impression on him, and that is one of the reasons he wanted to do this album.

The title of the album came when Neil wanted to put together a album of songs he loved, and for him it is a dream come true to be able to sing them and record them. Neil always wanted his music, and his performance, and the shows, to be accepted and valued by the audience. And i think his fans have done that over the many years of his musical career.

His musical career spanning nearly five decades, Neil Diamond has sold more than 125 Million albums worldwide, with his last studio album Home Before Dark debuting at # 1 in the US and abroad. His most current release, Hot August Night NYC DVD, is already certified double platinum. Neil has a remarkable track record of 16 Top Ten albums, and 37 Top Ten singles, plus a Golden Globe Award, a Grammy Award,
