Who Stars In Cursed And When Will It Be Released?

Way back in March 2018, it was announced that Netflix ordered ten episodes for Season One of Cursed. The show is based on the YA novel of the same name by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler and published by Simon & Schuster in 2019. Miller and Wheeler also executive produce the series as well. Zetna Fuentes of The Deuce and Ray Donovan, and Daniel Nettheim from the Willem Dafoe movie The Hunter (2011) are on board as directors.

Netflix have finally given a fixed date for the awaited American series, after teasing for a month that it would be this summer. A fan site was confident that it will launch on July 17th, and they were right! Netflix confirmed today that the official release date is July 17th, 2020 with a very well crafted and stylish teaser trailer.

Originally it was thought the series would be released in the Spring as this was stated on various platforms for the book, but after a long post-production process (no doubt due to the show's lengthy special effects) we're finally just weeks away from this highly anticipated show.

It stars Australia's Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why) as Nimue, The OG Lady Of The Lake, who in the original legend bestows the magical sword Excalibur upon King Arthur. In this version it seems that Nimue and a young Arthur, played by Devon Terrell, another native Aussie, team up to bring down the evil ruler Sir Ector (Peter Guiness) with a little help from Merlin, portrayed by Gustav Skarsgård of Viking's fame.

According to IMDb, supporting cast members include Jaye Griffiths (BBC's Casualty and Doctor Who), Daniel Sharman (Fear The Walking Dead and Teen Wolf), newcomer's Shalom Brune-Franklin from the British crime thriller Line of Duty, and Phill Webster, most recently seen in Hulu's The Great.

It has been touted as the next Game Of Thrones, and it seems certain that it will be renewed for a Season Two, even if we haven't yet seen a full trailer for Season One! Netflix are keeping this one closely guarded, the only information out there are bits and pieces of the outlining plot, and fan theories generating interest on social media sites. If you can't wait another month, the YA book has been on bookshelves since last year, and the audio book is available through Audible, narrated by Nimue herself, Knives Out star Katherine Langford.

Check out the teaser trailer below.
