Sexy Celebs Over 60!

Updated on March 21, 2013

I was motivated to write this hub from a hubpages "Question" I encountered here:

Do you think women over 60 can be attractive and sexy?

asked by soozeqsh

And to that, I can only respond "Yes, yes and yes!"  Of course women in their 60's can be both attractive and sexy! I'm so over old men trying to date women, colleagues and friends my age when they have perfectly hot women around their own age! I have the utmost respect for women who carry around their age proudly. It's my absolute life goal to be a gorgeous gilf (Grandmother-Milf) at the age of 60 and beyond.

My mother has always taught me that the key to aging gracefully, was avoiding the sun like the plague. (This is extremely common amongst Asian women I'm sure, as many of them hate the sun) Unfortunately, I am in love with the beach and outdoor activities, including sun-bathing so I force myself to use spf 70 on my body and spf 100 on the face.

These following women are all gorgeous and sexy, and best of all, all in their 60s!

Susan Sarandon

Susan Sarandon

Ms. Susan Sarandon is 64 and definitely sexy! Not only is Sarandon one of the most renowned actresses in this country, but she has also won an Academy Award for her performance in "Dead Man Walking."

I'll never forget her in the film "Thelma and Louise", because I love the scarf and sunglasses look she made iconic in the road-trip convertible scene. From time to time, I emulate her exact look for some of my own road trips!

I also respect her enormously, for her charity work and the political activism she is heavily involved with. She has worked for progressive and liberal causes such as Emily's List and Madre. She has supported Ralph Nader, John Kerry, John Edwards and publicly denounced the Iraq War. She was also made UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, supported gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual rights, and worked to fight racism.

Who ever said 60-somethings didn't get busy?

Helen Mirren

Helen Mirren

Helen Mirren is my personal favorite actress in her 60's. She has won an Academy Award, 4 SAG Awards, 4 BAFTAS, 4 Emmy Awards, 3 Golden Globes and 2 Cannes Film Festivals. She has starred in numerous movies, theatre performances, and television shows.

So what makes this British babe 65 and sexy? Her amazing ability to show-off her age and sexiness! She puts it all out there for everyone to see! Literally. She posed nude recently, in a bathtub for a shoot in New York Magazine.

Not only that, but she has boldly stated that "she has no maternal instinct whatsoever" (she has no children), she claimed herself an atheist, admitted to her past-cocaine addictions and has a Madame Toussards Wax figure in London!

What I respect most, is her candid ability to be who she is. I love how she stands up for herself because contrary to popular belief, no not all women want to have kids and stay at home. Some of us have other plans, and want to do more in life!

Goldie Hawn
Goldie Hawn

Goldie Hawn

Goldie Hawn is an amazingly attractive 65 year old Hollywood jack-of-all-trades. She is an actress, film director, producer and singer. She also has won an Academy Award! (1969)

She looks fantastic today, just as she had in the sixties and seventies. Even her daughter, Kate Hudson, is gorgeous and looks just like her! I admire the fact that she is embracing of her age, as she looks like she has not gone under the knife!

My all time favorite Goldie movie is Overboard, which I have watched countless times, and every time I watch it, I always contemplate feathering my hair!

Tina Turner
Tina Turner

Tina Turner

Ms.Tina Turner is the QUEEN of rock n' roll and a whopping 71 years of age. Although she's 71, she's so fabulous looking that I just had to include her in my list! She doesn't look a day over 55 in my opinion! Not only am I hoping to look as good as her when I'm 70, but I'm wishing for more melanin in my skin right about now!

Her career has spanned 50 years, and was named one of the greatest singers of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. She has won 8 Grammys and has performed at countless internationally famed venues such as the Kennedy Center and the 50th Annual Grammy Awards.

This sexpot was born a Baptist, but is now a Buddhist! What I love most about Tina Turner are her sexy dance moves, smooth voice and her sequin/glitter outfits that she continues to wear despite her age!

What we're all hoping for: Tina's tell all book about how to look like her by the time you're 71. Go Tina!

Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton is the 67th US Secretary of State. Not only is she helping run this country, she's looking amazing while doing it! This 63 year old mom doesn't let age get in the way of accomplishing everything she wants, and there's nothing sexier than that!

She is a Yale law school graduate, was the First Lady of America and the first woman to run for President of the United States! All while maintaining her composure and healthy skin. (I bet she avoids the sun!)

I love anything Hillary does because it reminds me to go for my own lofty goals! That and to put on my daily moisturizer!

chspublish: Well, why not write about older women? I'm going to be one one day. It's amazing what people can and cannot see when looking at the exact same thing. I don't believe its solely about age; it's all about how one carries oneself. Whether you're 18 or 81, how you carry yourself reflects what others see in you as well. Thanks for the insightful comment!

Couldn't resist your hub on older women. Well done for writing this.

If more people wrote like you, we would have a very, very interesting world indeed, yenajeon.

Keep the writing going about older women, I say.

As a 63 year old, I do find it difficult sometimes to hold my own and feel good about the aging process.

However, after your hub, I feel proud to be older and looking the best I can.

I had a great and unusual compliment paid to me, last year, by a very young man - he was about 23 years. He said I had a most enchanting face. It took a few minutes for the compliment to sink in and then I felt great and honored that he would say it aloud in front of other men. The other men looked a bit aghast at first and, of course. I thought their surprise meant he was wrong. On reflection, of course, I can now see they were a bit astonished at his candour, not the compliment. At least that is the way I take it now and take such delight in it. Though his compliment was about 'looks' I felt proud and honored in the 'way' he put it. Such gallantry! Wow, it was an amazingly gratifying experience.

Keep the compliments coming, I say.

      Thanks again.

ruffridyer: Angela Davis never ran for presidency but you're correct about Clinton. In 1872, Victoria Woodhull was the first woman to run for president even during a time when woman couldn't vote!

Personally I was not a fan of president Clinton or HER husband. Actually I think Angela Davis was the first woman to run for president.

Anyway as an aging male,{57} I agree there are many Beautiful women out there well past the age of 25.

      Hi Jaynie!

My mom also went through a really hard time when hitting the big 5-0 (very recently, just 5 months ago)! It's all about acceptance and aging gracefully. I love your examples, Meryl Streep and Sophia Loren are my favorites!

I just forced myself to narrow it down to 5 women. Perhaps there will be a part II in the making!

      Thanks for reading!

Thanks so much for an interesting hub. It's validating to remember that we can be sexy at any age. I'm 45 and forever fretting about the aging process, but these ladies prove that you can still be vital and sexy at any age. Here are a few more:

Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson who are 63 and 62, respectively. They are still Charlie's Angels!

Rachel Welch. She is 70 and still so beautiful it's ridiculous!

Sophia Loren. She is 76 and still a sex icon!

Meryl Streep. She is 61. She looked great in Mama Mia and she is still at the top of her game. She also did an amazing job starring in, "It's Complicated," as a still sexy and desirable divorcee.

Nancy Pelosi. At 70 years old, she is Speaker of the House, and a tremendously powerful voice in Washington. She also looks great.

The list could go on and on.

      Great hub.

VioletSun: I just linked your hub to mine as well!

KoffeeKlatch Gals: Goldie Hawn does look amazing for her age, but the key to aging well I think is keeping that positive spirit, which Helen Mirren has done perfectly!

      Thanks for visiting.

Goldie Hawn is really looking good. All of the women you showcased are beautiful. It's nice to see that turning 60 doesn't automatically relagate you to the rocking chair.

      Hi Violet!

Goldie Hawn really has kept herself up! I also agree that staying active is key.

I would love to link hubs! I'll put a link of your hub on mine and vice versa.

Its nice to see young women like you give the thumbs up to women in their 60's. I agree all these ladies look fabulous, and being active keeps one young. Goldie Hawn caught me off guard, I was looing for the "after" photo and realized this is how she looks today! Wow, She has not aged that much.

I would love to link your hub to mine, "Getting Older and the Power of the Mind", as your hub inspires.

Rated up as it was fun to read!
