I watched the Messengers 2: The Scarecrow on October 13, 2009.
I give this movie a 2.5 out of 5 stars.
The plot of the movie is simple enough. A man with money troubles and dying crops plants a scarecrow he finds in his barn and crazy things start happening. Norman Reedus who plays the farmer did an excellent job to me in this movie. He has the look of a down and out farmer just trying to get by. The movie itself starts out ok explaining the situation of the family and mental struggles of the farmer. Once the scarecrow is up and things start to happen the movie seems to drift for a little bit with the farmer seeing things and receiving unexplained riches and luck. The ending is a little chessey for me.
I would rent this movie if you have time to kill. Its not a bad movie but could of been better.
This is the preview on the back of the movie: Unimaginable terror grows in this chilling prequel to the horror hit, The Messengers. Desperate to save his crops, a farmer places a mysterious scarecrow in his fields only to discover that with pure evil...you reap what you sow. As the body count rises around him and his family questions his sanity, he'll have to fight back against a deadly force that knows no bounds.
This movie is rated R for horror violence, sexual content, nudity and some language.
