THE 60'S BEST BAND IN THE UPPER OHIO VALLEY
INTRODUCTION
Fellow hubbers and other readers, those of you who read my previous Hub, ”http://hubpages.com/hub/THE-LUCKIEST-MAN-ON-THE-FACE-OF-THE-EARTH”, know I was in a band, The Darvons in the 1960’s. My opinion may be somewhat biased, but I think we were the best band in the Upper Ohio Valley during the 1960’s!!!!!!!!!!!
As I mentioned in that previous hub I had an old tape converted to CD format. Well I picked it up yesterday. 9/14/2010, and I was amazed how good it sounded based on the circumstances of its existence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TALE OF THE TAPE
I got the Webcore Reel-to-reel tape recorder in 1959 for my 13th birthday, and it was used and 5 years old at the time. The tape had an identical pedigree and had been recorded over many times when I got it. Over the years I recorded music from the radio, my guitar, Jerry (my sister Barbette’s son) as a little boy, and even the first Clay-Liston fight in 1964. This tape was never degaussed, but simply recorded over time, and time again. I'm amazed at the sound remaining on an approximately 56 year old tape!!!!!!!!!!!!
This music was recorded in 1966 with no mixer (one microphone only) in my parent's basement, and the tape has remained on the Webcore ever since!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’LL SHARE THE MUSIC
I’m in the distribution process of sharing the CD’s with my bandmates. I’ll share the tract with any of you who want to listen!!!!!!!!!!! Just email me through Hubpages and I’ll put you on the sharing distribution list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All I ask of you is the following:
1. Make sure I have your valid email address.
2. Please take into account the tapes age,
3. Let my know whether you want Windows or Apple format.
4. Last and not least I need some time to respond and please don’t be too critical!!!!!!!!!!!!
PRETTY PLEASE DON’T BE TOO CRITICAL AND HURT MY FEELINGS!!!!!!!!!!
