Fact: Anthony Michael Hall spent eight months preparing for the roll of Pvt. Joker nut withdrew due to salary and scheduling disputes with Kubrick.
Trivia: Pvt. Jokers real name in the movie is J.T. Davis
Movie Mistake: After Cowboy is hit by the sniper Animal Mother fires wildly and destroys part of the "My Toan" sign. A few seconds later you can see it is intact.
My Take: Full Metal Jacket is one of the better Vietnam movies out there for two reasons; first is that the director is Stanley Kubrick and the second is R. Lee Ermey's portrayal of Gunnery Sergeant Hartman. The basic training portion of the film is classic and rich with quotes. Picking out one for this film was a challenge, I had to think about language, sexual content and length. This film is a must if you're a movie fan.
