Why do adults take children to R rated movies?
Parents and movie ratings
O.k. everyone I think I have about had it with students coming in telling me the movies they went to see with their PARENTS. I teach fourth grade and the children are about ten years old. It never fails that someone comes in to tell me that their parents took them to see for example;THINK LIKE A MAN. This movie was about dating and what you need to do to find and keep a man. One of the first scenes in the movie has Chris Brown running out of the bedroom on someone after he just had sex with her. So why in the heck would you take your ten year old to see this movie? Do they need to date? Do they need to know about having sex? I don't get it!!! If you know the movies is not for kids why do you insist on taking your kids to the show. Get a babysitter or don't go!! These kids already think they are teenagers and they are only ten. Let them have a childhood please.
The other movie that was out awhile ago was called Precious, I don't even want to tell you what that was about. I am 34 years old and that movie was deep for me. It had sex, lots of cussing, fights molestation and every topic under the sun. Guess what? I came to school and third graders and fourth graders came in telling the staff they went to the movies to see it with their parents. What are these parents thinking? You haven't even talked to your kids about the birds and the bees yet,but you take them to the movies to see it in plain sight. Oh yeah, you say it's not so bad because I covered their ears and eyes on all the bad parts. Guess what if you have to do that 30-40 times in two hours that wasn't a movie you needed to take your kids to see!!!
All I have to say is we live in a new day and age people. Everything that is rated G now a days is really PG-13. The PG13 are really PG. The PG movies are really R. The R movies are more like XXXX. The movies that are not rated yet....I have no words. Please do society a favor parents. Please go preview the movies first without children before you go view them with kids. Please have some morals and class about yourselves and get a sitter. One movie is not worth ruining your child's life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
