Should Martin Bashir be suspended from MSNBC for his reprehensible statements about Sarah Palin?
Alec Baldwin and Ed Schultz have both been suspended in the past for making reprehensible statements on their MSNBC shows. Why hasn't Bashir ? His was the most reprehensible of all three. For those of you who didn't hear Martin Bashir suggested someone should crap in Palin's mouth and urinate in her eyes. So much for "civility" from the left...Mr. President, where is your 2 cent lecture on civility now? Not an off the cuff comment his rant was carefully produced for TV airing and had to be approved by others producing the show - who should take the hit...anyone? Search YouTube for it.
I need to begin by saying that Sarah Palin's remarks did leave her open for criticism. I understand the point she was attempting to make but she should have chosen a less sensitive analogy.
The problem I now have with Bashir is this was not some off the cuff remark made in the heat of the moment. This was a detailed, planned, previously written, put on the teleprompter speech that I have to assume was approved before it was aired.
It was despicable and just another attempt to spew vitriol at any representative of the GOP he could find. This is simply what Bashir does though. MSNBC is the most biased mainstream news source on the planet, even above FOX news. The difference between the two? FOX leans right but MSNBC not only leans left but is based solely on hatred. They feed upon it, condone it and boister it among their viewers.
They will never suspend him because Bashir is what MSNBC is all about.
Sue, criticism is one thing but scummy gutter talk like Bashir fabricated for public television says tons more about him, his personality, his character, his ideology and beliefs than anything about Sarah Palin who actually stated the truth.
Agreed. Criticizing her choice of analogy would be fine. His disgusting rant should not be tolerated by anyone, I don't care which side of the aisle you support.
I saw this last night and I think it is the only commentary that actually explains the whole thing truthfully http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2JXQZBX_jE Like or hate Anne Coulter she has a nack for getting to the root of a matter and liberal bullies.
Do you remember those papers that used to occupy the racks by the supermarket checkout lines? Those that reported on things like two headed babies and other items equally interesting? Heck, perhaps they are still there and I just don't see them anymore.
It seems to me that MSNBC has taken the place of those tabloids for the TV crowd. They feel they are above the law when it comes to reporting the news, and follow the procedure of "report first," and "verify later."
Yes, someone using disgusting language like this on a TV broadcast should be suspended or fired. It is an indicator of how mentally unstable they really are, and just how fanatic they have become. They are perfect examples of foam-at-the-mouth liberals.
Gee, its so nice to hear he apologized, a 1 minute apology? I'd like to hear him elaborate on apologizing, address some of the decrepit aspects of his & MSNBC's & its employees' behavior SICKOS all ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeLH2OsT0DQ
Not that it makes it okay, but he did publicly apologize for the remark (I'll post the link below). And, not that this makes it okay either, but Sarah Palin is no stranger to slinging muck in the name of scoring political points. This just underlines how heated and poisonous the current political climate is. When we demonize the other side into comically over exaggerated villains it just results in more gridlock.

Schultz and Baldwin apologized too- they were suspended. How can you liken anything Palin ever said to what Bashir said? - REALITY CHECK! What does Bashir think of the pro-slavery Democratic Party of the old south? They practiced slavery, Palin didn't
Bashir didn't practice slavery either, nor did he 'crap in Palin's mouth and urinate in her eyes'. He used words to lash out at her in a moment of frustration, then apologized. Rush Limbaugh does it all the time and he's still on the air.
Except it wasn't a moment of frustration. It was a scripted teleprompter speech.
Rush Limbaugh, Palin, no conservatives with the public presence of a Bashir would ever even think of broadcasting such scummy rhetoric and you know it - because Palin said being in debt is like slavery? Really? you just have no intellectual honesty.
And personal attacks indicate you have no interest in a discussion.
personal attack?...boo hoo! Nice cop out - you just can't take criticism. Bashir wasn't lashing out from frustration & to allege that or equate anything Palin hasdone with the likes of Bashir's behavior IS intellectually dishonest. Can't deny th
Being in debt is like slavery, no doubt about it.
I saw this last night it is the only commentary I've seen that actually explains the whole thing truthfully http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2JXQZBX_jE As Coulter says Palin made it clear she wasn't talking about racial slavery. Bashir has no excuse.
Well looks like Bashir has bit the dust! Martin Bashir Resigns, Finally, From MSNBC. If there was ever a case where a single offensive comment deserved repercussions, this was it.

Alaska set to release thousands of Sarah Palin emails"The messages date from Palin's first days in office in December 2006 through September 2008a period that covers most of the presidential election, but not her time as McCain's running mate. This release of correspondence also does not...

There are a "few" posts in the forums indicating the posters' firm beliefs that Sarah Palin's book is an effort to (A) make money, (B) settle scores, (C) suck in those of us foolish enough to believe she's a person of substance, (D) blow hot air, and/or a number of other negative...

I saw an episode where Kate Gosselin and her kids went camping with sarah palan on her reality tv show. She did not seem to be enjoying it when they were camping, and was complaining. Her facial expressions were negative, and she was asking whats the point of camping when you can be in a lodge...

So a former Palin follower has penned an expose. The gist is damaging emails that were supposed to be confidential (hey, if Wikileaks can do it, why not an Alaska gubernatorial staffer?).Upshot. She said some pretty nasty (and damaging) stuff.I hope this will be a minor attention blip on her descent...

Ok, so I couldn't resist tuning in to tonight's premier.Honestly, if Sarah Palin thinks that this reality show is going to HELP her credibility or her popularity, she really is dumb.In the minutes I saw:1. She allows her young daughter Piper to call her "Sarah" and even comments on the...
