    Help me find this movie?

    I have been looking for this movie for years and I cannot seem to find it anywhere, I have no idea what it is called. It is about a dog that lives with a boy and his family. Everyone in the town knows who the dog is and will say hi to him. The boy's dad's job gets transferred and they have to move. They end up not being able to take the dog with them so they put him on a farm. The dog escapes. At the end of the movie, the dog almost dies. Thank you so much to anyone who can help me.
