All about Nagayama Eita - What you need to know about the versatile Japanese actor.
Eita Nagayama was born on December 13, 1982 in Tokyo, Japan. He is the middle child in a family of five and his brothers Tazuya Nagayama and Kento Nagayama are actors as well. As a child, Eita enjoyed making home movies and enjoyed playing football (soccer) with his brothers. He joined the entertainment world in 1991 when, as a high school student, he was scouted by a talent agent while walking on the streets.
Eita made his debut as a model and by 2001, he was in a popular commercial for Coca-Cola. That same year, Eita made his acting debut on the small screen with the Fuji TV drama Sayonara, Ozu-sensei and on the big screen with Blue Spring. The following year, he dropped his family name altogether and became known simply as "Eita." During this time, he landed a variety of supporting roles but nothing stood out until the hit 2003 Fuji TV drama Water Boys. Eita's lead role in the 2005 comedy Summer Time Machine Blues boosted his popularity as a rising young actor. Along the way, he picked up some unique roles, switching easily from leading to supporting roles and working for both small indie films and big budget mainstream movies. The versatility he has displayed worked to make Eita one of the most in demand and popular young Japanese actors today.
