Honourable mention: Murphy Brown
Seems we have a few in common Motown
That's because we're women with damn good taste! And, apparently, similar senses of humor.
And, OMG!! I cannot believe I forgot to mention Murphy Brown! I think Candice Bergen is a comic genius!
I love Frasier. One of the few spinoffs that were successful. The last spinoff show that I saw was Joey from Friends..yikes.
1) The Big Bang Theory
2) All in the Family
3) Frasier
4) The Mary Tyler Moore Show
5) Tossup: Cheers and Three's Company
I don't watch too much tv now, but my favorites were/are
Mad Men - more satire than true 'sitcom'
Seinfeld
Friends
Frasier
I don't have a 5th although sometimes I'll watch an old I Love Lucy
There's been a lot of them that I've really liked at one time or another; and I'm not someone who can easily pick favorites among things that I generally like. Also, a lot of them are enjoyable when they're the latest "what's out there",but then they're pretty forgettable when they're replaced with something else.
Frazier is the one show that, to me, comes to mind as my outstanding favorite. There were elements to that show and the writing that I think gave it something that a lot of the more run-of-the-mill shows don't have.
