Can you think of a song that always moves you no matter how many times you hear it?
I only ask as I have been listening to 'Friend of Ours' by Elbow; a very simple and beautiful song which always makes me feel melancholy and thoughtful.
I suppose 'Everybody Hurts' by REM is a bit of an obvious choice...
The song, "So Close", by Jon McLaughlin from the movie, "Enchanted". It reminds me of a past experience of love so deeply, that I feel the sensation of love as I think about it when I hear the song.
Never around my male friends; they would just make fun about it. And sometimes, women get to mushy with it.
There are some for me of this kind to which i will always be switched
I don't know about you, but the only thing I find moving about "You belong with me" is my bowels...
"Sleep Tight" by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bochelli (?) It seems to be the story of both me and my late wife. you can find it on you tube
every time, sometimes just hearing it in my mind moves me~
'Now we are Free' from Gladiator, composed by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard, sang by Enya
this video is not from the movie, but I like what she did with the song. it's quite moving.
here is link from the movie:
Maybe the both of them are overused, but I always find Let It Be and Imagine very moving.
'Presence of the Lord' Eric Clapton, 'Day in the Life' Beatles, 'Little Wing' Jimi Hendrix, 'Crystal Ship' Doors. So Many, but then what do i know!
the whole album of Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon"
"Into the West" By Annie Lennox off of the "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" soundtrack always brings me to tears, and also Carrie Underwood's "Just a Dream" and last but not least,
Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven"
everytime I hear "that song" by big wreck, so I guess Ian Thornley hit it right on the money when he wrote that one...and "lucky man" by emerson / lake and palmer... and "bittersweet symphony" by the Verve
There are heaps but at the moment probably "Last Goodbye" by Jeff Buckley!
There are alot of songs filled with emotion and thought that move me --but one of song always always moves me is the "National Anthem"- and "Come Home" by One Republic-
