    Don't know if this question was precipitated by recent events, but the old champ of Nathans Hotdog Eating Competition, Takeru Kobayashi, was barred from the event this year. Seems to be some sort of corporate problem between him and company that runs it.

    Kobayashi tried to get on stage during the event, but was arrested. There is video of his arrest on Youtube.

    The current Nathans Winner is Joey Chestnut, who defeated Kobayashi a few years ago.
