What are the minimum instruments you need to form a very basic band ? Will piano and drum works...
You need a base guitar a lead guitar and drums. Anything else is extra and better. Horns, piano etc...........
This is how Keane, one of the best new bands out in this millennium, describe their band on their website:
Tom Chaplin – vocals, etc.
Richard Hughes – drums, etc.
Tim Rice-Oxley – piano, etc.
So I would say it depends more on what you do with the instruments you have than what instruments you actually have. Whatever you have got, make music, enjoy it, and it will be good.

How should I start learning piano?I'm thinking about self learning piano (lessons are too expensive!) but I'm not sure how I should go about doing so.

Do you play any instruments? if yes, what do you play?I play the piano (at intermediate level) but I'd love to learn the guitar and violin sometime in the future. What about you all?
