Does the news focus too much on negative occurrences?
Should the news report positive things as well?
Of course they do. Unfortunately, that's what sells. The only time devoted to positive or uplifting news stories during broadcast news is the last few minutes of the program. People seem to pay attention to something they perceive as a threat, like war, disease, or natural disasters, and see stories of Boy Scouts helping their community as boring. I guess it's human nature.
