The Oscars were supposed to be young and hip this year, did they deliver?
Easily the worst Oscars ever. Hollywood has lost it's glamour. I could only watch a half hour and I was done.
I enjoyed the Oscars this year, and thought they were a class act that was refreshing. I was so pleased to see that Ricky Gervais’ sleazy and roast-like target humor was nowhere to be found.
However, I thought Franco looked as though he wanted to be any place else but on that stage, and this hurt the show. Hathaway was terrific, but what are dramatic actors of this caliber doing hosting the Oscars? I miss Billy Crystal…like Hope, he was an almost impossible act to follow. “Young and hip” fell pretty flat, as did the “older and flip” of last year.
I agree that the Oscars need a more dignified treatment. But not so much for the Golden Globes, and if the "Stars" can't handle someone teasing them then they should be paid less. Every event is a "Star Worship Event" I actually liked to see them have their ugly sides highlighted.
I hate saying "I told you so" to anyone for any reason, but esewhere in HP, someone asked if the Oscars werereallyworth it. My response was it's a shame when the pre-game show, fashion crap and hyp is more important that the show itself. That includes the hoopla rigamarole they did between honors. It's about the appearances and not the actual achievements any more.

In recent news, Brett Ratner was fired as one of the Academy Awards Producers when he made a joke involving the word, "fag", and an allegedly tasteless interview with Howard Stern (I don't know if it was truly tasteless, as I didn't see the interview, but this is what imdb...

I honestly feel that the incident at the Oscars is going to be arguably the biggest mistake in Will's career in Hollywood, and it wouldn't surprise me at all that moving forward, even after he's long dead, that THIS particular incident will be all that he's known for. While on my...

Celine OUTDID every other version of Charlie Chaplin's song Smile at the Oscars - wasn't that stunning? Can I download this version?
