I would say that Prisoner of Azkaban was my favorite. It brought my favorite Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Lupin, and my two favorite characters in the series (Lupin and Black). It also had a tremendous plot with a great twist at the end of it. It was the first of the books to start to get gritty and dark (which occurred through the rest of the series) and started to deal with deep emotional issues like love and trust that made the book series so great. There is also the introduction of some great magical objects like the Marauder's Map and Black's knife that can open any lock. It was really a turning point in the book series and showed how amazing and deep of a writer that J.K. Rowling was. Even to the point of bringing back a character who was shortly mentioned in the first book (The flying motorcycle Hagrid uses to carry Harry was owned by Black and mentioned by Hagrid before Black was wrongfully accused).
Snapes chapter in the last book. His story finally comes together and it made him my favorite character.
Please keep in mind I did not read the books.... and for this I am sorry.. (too many stuff I'd rather read more).. So I only watched the films.. and my favourite ones were the last 2 obviously. The deathly hallows.. for the win!
My favorite book was the Prisoner of Azkaban, but my favorite movie was the 5th one. My favorite characters in the movies (due to their acting) are Prof. McGonagall and Sirius. The class I think I would like to take the most would be Charms. My favorite characters in the books Sirius and Dumbledore. I guess that's a smorgasbord answer but it's all true!
I liked them all, but some were definitely better than others. I think my favorite part of the whole series, books and movies, was when Professor Snape ended up being a good guy at the end of it all. I never could figure out which side he was rooting for and I leaped with joy when I found out he was a spy for Dumbledore and trying to protect Harry the entire time.
