Do spoilers for TV shows have a time limit?

Some Grey's Anatomy fans are complaining that ABC posted something on Facebook about the ending of the last season... more than 2 weeks ago... is a spoiler and has ruined the ending for them. It got me thinking, how long do you have to wait? I'm of the mind 2 weeks is plenty of time...

I, too, think that two weeks is plenty of time. In fact, I think it's absolutely ridiculous that people would complain about this. If they haven't seen the finale, it's their own fault, not the network's. If they really don't want the ending spoiled before they watch it, they should take care not to read anything that might contain spoilers. Or just watch the episode!

I think a few months to a year is fair for tv.  With Netflix and Hulu some people will start watching during the last season. I also know many people with backed up DVRs.  I think if one were to talk about spoilers around only those who have seen it, it would be a nice kindness.
