What are your top ten music albums that you would want on a deserted island with you?
Provided that you had the means to play them, of course.
I have them listed here:
http://cat-on-a-soapbox.hubpages.com/hu … ock-Albums
Book of Secrets by Lorenna McKennitt, James Taylor's Greatest Hits, anything Beach Boys, Best of Dean Martin, Vivaldi's Four Seasons. anything Beethoven, Frank Sinatra's Duets, Sinatra's Duets 2, Broadway's Greatest Hits, Backstreet Boys Black and Blue.
Lots of eclectic music so I would not get bored.
I may have to name my favorite song if the name of the album escapes me. I'll use an asterisk* when I do.
McCoy Tyner, The Real McCoy
K.T. Tunstall, *Black Horse and the Cherry Tree
The Cranberries, *Dreams
Stevie Nicks, *Just Like The World We Know
Dave Brubeck, *Blue Rondo a la Turk
Carl Orff, *Carmina Burana
John Coltrane, My Favorite Things
Abdullah Ibrahim, Cape Town Flowers
Norman Greenbahm, *Spirit in the Sky
Rush, *Subdivisions
There are *many* more, and on a different day I might have changed two or three of the above, but voil'a! These are 10 of my absolute faves!
The Beatles - White Album
Allman Brothers Band - Live at Fillmore East
Grateful Dead - Europe 72 (or any Dick's Picks disc from 72 - 74)
Jim Hall and Red Mitchell - Live at Sweet Basil
Traffic - John Barleycorn
Pat Metheny Group - Full Circle
Bill Frisell - Gone, Just Like a Train
Jefferson Airplane - Volunteers
The Band - The Band
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
Well, I have a bunch, but the 10 I would want are listed below. I bet if I came back tomorrow it might be slightly different.
Sticky Fingers - The Rolling Stones
An Anthology - Duane Allman
Time Pieces - Eric Clapton
Live at Earl Court - Morrissey
Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs - Derek and the Dominoes
Kind of Blue - Miles Davis
Hey Ho Let's Go Anthology - Ramones
Roman Trilogy (performed by the Berlin Philharmonic) - Respighi
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars - David Bowie
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin
Uh-oh, I forgot Layla! I might have to swap out either The Band or Dylan for it!
Act 3 - I don't have any Beatles so I would probably swap out the Bowie for a Beatles album (or sneak an extra one onto the island).
Ahhh...I forgot about 'So What'. ''Miles Smiles" is pretty kick-ass as well!
Without giving it much thought...
Rush - 2112
Dream Theater - Scenes from a Memory
Petra - Beyond Belief
Fiel a la Vega - Fiel a la Vega
Muse - Absolution
Dave Matthews Band - Before These Crowded Streets
Roy Brown - Colección
El Gran Combo - Caballo Pelotero
Alanis Morrissette - Jagged Little Pill
Van Halen - 5150
Uhm, I cant think of ten right now, but definitely Muse and Draco (Vagabundo) would be on the list.
