What do you feel has been Al Pacino's best film role?

My family and I love actor Al Pacino. I personally have a hard time deciding which of his film roles is my very favorite - I'm torn between Michael Corleone from the Godfather films and John Milton from The Devil's Advocate. But I'd love to hear your opinion, even if it was Pacino playing himself in Jack and Jill. Thanks much!

Oh, by FAR, it is as the unwilling lawyer in And Justice For All who has to defend a suh-lime of a judge, which judge pulled strings for said arrangement.  Ultimately, the Pacino character can't take it anymore and delivers, to the jury, one of THE most "*hell* ya!" satisfying lines in the history of the legal drama.  GOD, what a flick!

Al Pacino is my easiest pick as a screen idol, but I'd have a helluva hard time picking just one favorite role.  Some of my all time faves though are (and please forgive any repeat answers):

    The Devil's Advocate
    Scent of a Woman
    The Recruit

Notice that he's a sort of mentor to younger folks in each of these films.  All amazing, in my opinion.  To be honest, though, I could just sit and listen to the man read the phone book and enjoy it!

Oh, it'd be awesome to get an audio book narrated by him!

I have to pick two: "Scent of a Woman" for which he won an Oscar (beating Denzel Washington in "Malcolm X" - I'm still not over that) and "The Devil's Advocate." He is amazing in both films, love him.

Now this is a tough fave movie star performance question! Gotta say one of Pacino's own faves, Scarface.

Alaster, I have to admit I'm not real keen on Scarface (only because I dislike drug crime films). But I have a son who is a huge fan!

Believe I've read this is Pacino's favorite all-time role, Beth. It is a tough film and was rather shocking when it came out in 1983. Understand your feelings on it and don't blame you. One of the better remakes of a classic some say.smile

Well, truth be said few folks can hear "Scarface" and not immediately think of Al Pacino! So yeah, I can see where he'd be proud of it smile

I really like his Serpico character, an earlier movie about a non corrupt detective..and all the other great roles, especially the Godfather.

I love the part where Al Pacino dances in the movie 'Jack and Jill'.
