Last years remake of Total Recall was completely unnecessary, boring to watch and was as expected a pale imitation of the original. The Evil Dead remake was another completely pointless retreading of a great original, no Bruce Campbell... I felt as if my soul was being swallowed.
I'm a big fan of old original movies. It's a Wonder Life is a classic, no one can take the place of Jimmy Stewart.
I am aggressively disinterested in the new "RoboCop" remake.
I was disappointed with "Psycho." Why dare touch Alfred Hitchcock's finest work? There was no way to duplicate the thrill. They even put in the exact dialogue. It just didn't work.
I don't think Psycho should have ever been remade. I don't think anyone could ever take the place of Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates.
I wish Oliver Stone's "Platoon" (1986) and Coppola's "Apocalypse Now" (1979) had been shelved. Both were counterproductive in terms of their depictions of Viet Nam veterans. I'd had quite enough of that.

Hollywood just keeps coming out with remakes after remakes. The origional PLanet of the Apes is better than the remake as is true of most remakes. Now Footloose has been remade and is out in theaters. Is there anyone besides me that hears about these remakes and just wants to hang...

When will it end? I hear there are talks going on right now to 'reboot' the "Lethal Weapon" movie series. How the hell do you reboot "Lethal Weapon?" I can understand James Bond, Batman, Superman, etc., comic book to movie adaptions or any kind of book to movie...

Film remakes, do we need them? The world of film is now awash with remakes of films from the distant and not so distant past. Is it a good idea to remake these older films with new actors and technology, or should they be left to stand alone in their own right?
