So about. the Movie "into the woods" Why do they turn Prince Charming into a jerk?

Does anyone else feel angry, after watching this movie?Taking the most Romantic Fairytale of all time and completely messing it up.

A reality movement is afoot to convince young girls that they cannot expect to be princesses in real life (unless they marry royalty) and as adults, they will need to be smart, independent, educated, and hardworking, to be able to provide for themselves.

Perhaps a corollary is that there is no such thing as a Prince Charming, but then that could be coming from my experience of every male in my past relationships attempting to steal or connive big money from me during dating and engagements. Demoralizing.

As for Prince Charming in "Into the Woods" - he reminded me of William Shatner making fun of himself. Good times. It was a joke in the film, a parody. See the live action Cinderella for a better version. Wonderful!

We can go and take little girls to the romantic versions at the same time we make sure they are strong mentally and emotionally. I point to the hairy uncle who dressed as a princess himself to take his little niece to see a Disney princess movie recently. He smiled. She smiled.

Charming is also not nice in the Shrek films. lol
