I wrote a hub on this called "great movie soundtrack from the 1960s". You can search for it. I guess my age is showing but I do prefer the old popular sounds mostly from the 1960-1980 where there were melodies that you can hum to and lyrics that you can understand and touch the soul.
Where are the great song writers today? Billy Joel, Carol King, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lennon and McCartney, Harry Chapin...
