(Spoilers for SW Episode 6) Did Darth Vader let Luke defeat him at the end of Return of the Jedi?
My friends and I often debate this. Vader had many more years of experience and training than Luke, but Vader's overall potential was reduced thanks to losing half his body. Did Vader hold back against Luke do to their connection? If so, who do you think would have won had they both gone all out?
I don't thin Vader held back. But he wasn't at top form because he was conflicted.
Based on what's shown in Rogue One, being half cyborg didn't seem to weaken Vader at all. He probably could take out most of the Jedi council. All except Yoda.
And likely Mace Windu as well.
Good points. Do you think he would have won were he not conflicted?
Some may also cite age as a factor, as Vader was about 4 years younger in Rogue One than ROTJ, though the Force supposedly helps counteract this.
