In recent movie news, the popular streaming service, Netflix, picked up a critically acclaimed indie film called "Cuties", which is a story about a 11 year old girl, who loves twerking.... You can't make this sick ass shit up.....  God, I hate humanity sometimes....but I digress....

The film was a huge success at the Sundance film festival, where it won Directing Award in the World Cinema Dramatic category at the festival earlier this year.

The plot synopsis according to one of the websites covering this story details the story as follows:

In “Cuties,” an 11-year-old girl from Senegal Amy tries to escape family dysfunction by joining a free-spirited dance clique named “Cuties.” The group stands in stark contrast to her mother’s traditional values, and she soon becomes aware of her own femininity well beyond her years through dance. She soon inspires the girls to embrace more sensual dance moves as part of their routine even as she begins to face the realities of growing up, and they hope to twerk their way to stardom at a local dance contest.

The writer and director of "Cuties", Maïmouna Doucouré, explained how growing up in France with traditional parents from Senegal made her want to explore in “Cuties” the question of whether we should “have the right to choose which women we can be in this world.”

She even goes on to say the following, "In our culture, even today, I can say I’m not totally free,” , and then continues saying “Because I love to wear short dresses and at the same time, when I go to a religious ceremony, I wear a veil. Just choose as a woman: who do you want to be?”

The movie is said to premiere on September 9 of this year on Netflix for those interested in seeing the movie.  Down below I have links to the trailer for this Netflix movie, and the article that details this information in greater detail for those that wish to read it for themselves.

My biggest question to all of you is this.  Are YOU personally going to watch this movie about an 11 year old and her friends, who all look around her age in the trailer, twerking up a storm?   Or do you find this idea repulsive and disgusting that Netflix would even entertain premiering such a film on their streaming service?  Please discuss.
