Over 100 posts WOO HOO! This was wrth doing.
Thanks for playing. Think 90s.
a four legged male something that died at less than 12 years old, whose only daddy he ever knew wrote a song for him and is in heaven with him, and he (not the daddy) did movies and documentaries
Geez, I can't remember what happened to me in the 90s !!!?
Hmm ... four-legged ... male ... dead ... singing daddy dead ... Richard Nixon ... he was a rat, right?
His dog Checkers is not the answer because he was not famous for writing songs about Checkers.
heheh, yeah, Nixon singing isn't something I'd imagine would happen.
I remember Polly ... but that goes back to the parrot thing
Anyone who had a radio in the 90s HEARD MY SONG. It was that big.
ok not Nixon
four legged male something (under the age of 12) had a daddy that just happened to be human, the only one he ever knew, that wrote a song about him I assume after he died is also in heaven with the male something....and knows something about Polly (Polly who?)
If Crash Jones knows Polly, then he's gonna be kicking himself for not seeing this one.
Something in the Way is the only other animal referencing song I can remember by Nirvana
This isn't Nirvana. But anyone who knows Nirvana, OR GROUPS OF THAT ILK AND PEDIGREE knows who I am.
the only bands i know the names of from the ninties i learned from my two youngest kids: Green Day and ??
80s and 90s but no.
More punk-rock than them.
Oh, I didn't allow punk rock (like it really stopped them?!) was Green Day punk rock, not ! right?
Green day is a very poppy from of Punk Rock.
and to expect a name of a person in a band I can't even name is a no go !
yup I give up it's almost 2 AM here I'm for bed Good luck to you Jewel and Crash Good night DJ
Should i just reveal it or wait for someone to guess it.?????
yea, it's one o'clock for me....I give up...but if I could contact my kids I'm sure they would know!
oh oh oh wait
It's Sublime
the dog is ... oh Johnny Butt?
For some reason I had Lou Dog down in my head as a bandmate ... heheh
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9MX8rMZ97I
My Name is Lou-Dog and this is my song
What I Got by sublime
Early in the morning, risin' to the street
Light me up that cigarette and I strap shoes on my feet
Got to find a reason, a reason things went wrong
Got to find a reason why my money's all gone
>>>>>>> I got a dalmation, and I can still get high
I can play the guitar like a mother f**king riot
Well, life is (too short), so love the one you got
'Cause you might get runover or you might get shot
Never start no static I just get it off my chest
Never had to battle with no bulletproof vest
Take a small example, take a tip from me
Take all of your money, give it all to charity
Love is what I got
It's within my reach
And the Sublime style's still straight from Long Beach
It all comes back to you, you'll finally get what you deserve
Try and test that you're bound to get served
Love's what I got
Don't start a riot
You'll feel it when the dance gets hot
Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got
>>>>>>>>>(That's) why I don't cry when my dog runs away
I don't get angry at the bills I have to pay
I don't get angry when my Mom smokes pot
Hits the bottle and goes right to the rock
F***in' and fightin', it's all the same
>>>>>>>>>>Livin' with Louie dog's the only way to stay sane
Let the lovin', let the lovin' come back to me
Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that
Lovin', is what I got, I got I got I got
Lou Dog
Lou Dog on the cover of a Sublime box set compilation.Named after Nowell's grandfather Louie Nowell, Louie, or "Lou Dog" as he was often called, was Bradley Nowell's pet Dalmatian who became something of a mascot for the band Sublime. Lou Dog was often allowed to wander the stage during live Sublime concert performances. Louie was also often featured on the cover of Sublime albums, and was often referred to in the lyrics of Sublime songs. The first lyrics Nowell sings on Sublime's major label debut album are, "We took this trip to Garden Grove/It smelled like Lou Dog inside the van". And in Sublime's most successful radio track, What I Got, Nowell sings, "Livin' with Louie Dog's the only way to stay sane." He also mentions his Dalmatian in What I Got other times, like in the lyric "I Got a Dalmatian, and I can still get high" as well as "I don't cry when my dog runs away." The song Doin' Time also refers to Lou Dog in the line "Me and Louie run to the party."
In the early 1990s, Lou Dog disappeared for a week. In the video Sublime — Stories, Tales, Lies, & Exaggerations, Troy Nowell (Bradley Nowell's widow) says that for the week during which Lou Dog was lost, Nowell spent a great deal of time lying on the couch crying in response to the loss of his dog. Lou Dog was eventually returned to Nowell, who, in response to the situation, later covered the Camper Van Beethoven song "The Day That Lassie Went To The Moon" and changed it to "Lou Dog Went to the Moon" ; this song is available on the Nowell bootleg "Firecracker Lounge" While Lou was missing Nowell also recorded this song to his home answering machine as a sort of audio lost dog poster.
In many retail and grocery stores throughout America there exists a brand of hard (alcoholic) lemonade called "Sublime Hard Lemonade". On every bottle, regardless of flavor there is a paw print and a quote saying "Louie Approved".
Following Nowell's 1996 death, Lou Dog was cared for by his mother. Lou Dog died on September 17, 2001.
I thought Lou Dog was the bass player or something ... never connected him with the dalmation.
I think the obvious just bitch-slapped me.
