Glee Song Mash-ups, Duets, and Solos

Updated on December 29, 2012

The Mash-up, Duet and Solo Songs on Glee

Glee is the freshest show the last couple of seasons. Great music, singing and interesting story lines, a little teenage drama. Some odd ducks in the adult characters, too.

I wanted to write a lens on the Glee show in general, but there are 2 very good ones here on Squidoo, and I didn't feel I could add any unique content. So I decided to spotlight the Mash-ups on Glee which I think are my favorites of the Glee songs anyway, so it works. :D

So far there are only 4, but I'm hoping that will change in the next season. So in the interest of a quality amount of content, I've added my other favorite musical numbers of Glee being the Duets and Solos.

Love Glee, too? Then vote for your favorite music for each of the categories. Don't see your favorite? Let us know what it is by leaving a comment.

From the Ballad episode aired November 18, 2009

Finn (Corey) sings to a laptop... If you don't know what this means check out Fox TV below for this episode.

Sweet Caroline - Puck (Mark Salling) ~ Solo

Puck's not usually spotlighted so this Solo was a treat.

From the Mash-Up episode aired October 21, 2009

Defying Gravity - Kurt (Chris Colfer) ~ Solo

I added this as Chris Colfer's range is incredible. His voice blends well in the duet with Rachel (Lea) above, but in the arrangement, he seems to be essentially the background vocal.

This is a Studio cut, but the aired version was seen on Wheels episode November 11, 2009

I'm Dancing with Myself - Artie (Kevin McHale) ~ Solo

A charming number beyond the usual pop music.

This girl was rejected by American Idol?!?!? Well, I'm very glad she has the opportunity to show her stuff on Glee.

Throwdown episode aired October 14, 2009

True Colors - Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) ~ Solo

So glad to see a Solo from the quietest member of the cast. And the song blew me away, too.

I am absolutely a Gleek! Loved this lens. Defying Gravity was life-changing for me, I made a special effort to make it into San Francisco to see Wicked after that. Since I was disabled at the time I had to take the para-transit. Very wonderful.

This is a fantastic look back at the music of Glee from season 1. I particularly appreciate the YouTube videos as they remind me of just how much I loved the music for season 1.

glee WAS a great show. But not until the second season came out :( it used to be a great show for kids to watch, now I think it is a little too much. Their song choices don't have any limitations anymore. I wish they would just go back to what they were doing before and pick clean songs
