Smurf Shopping - Oh Smurfy Day!

The Smurfs hearken back to a more gentle time, a time designed for the little guys to thrive, to learn, and to play. In short, it is a Smurfy time. Babies don't like to be scared. It makes them cry.

Gentle and blue is the Smurf way. Smurfs are a good costume choice for babies and toddlers; they are essentially nonthreatening and peaceful. The round blueness is comforting, and there are no frightening noises to make the little ones cry.

OK then.

I never really saw much of the Smurfs except in passing, but I did notice that my nieces and nephews were entranced by the blue Smurf cartoon. Recently I made it my mission to learn more about this bitty blue 1980s cartoon. I was impressed by it, the storyline was great and very watchable.

Rather than seeing a hidden Socialist agenda, I saw Smurf lessons such as sharing, caring for the sick and the babies, and treating others kindly and gently. I very much enjoyed the Smurfs. And more power to them!
