The Tourist: Part Romantic Comedy Part Thriller

Right off the top I want you to know that I love most of Johnny Depp's movies so when I hear of a new one, I am always excited. That is not to say that I love every movie that he has done...just that I love the majority of them and that some of Johnny Depp's movies number amongst my favorite movies of all time.

I was, therefore, quite excited to discover The Tourist, the new movie starring both Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. I read on a website that some fans of two of Hollywood's biggest stars are "foaming at the mouth" about this movie and I wouldn't say that I am quite that bad but I am definitely excited about this new movie.

I was doubly excited to discover that I could indulge my love of travelling (albeit armchair travelling) with Johnny Depp. We'll be travelling to Venice, Italy together in The Tourist.

Whether you feel the same way about Johnny Depp, or even Angelina Jolie, or you are simply looking for more information about The Tourist, you will find it righty here, right on this page.

The Tourist is difficult to pin to a certain genre of movie but it could be said that it appears to be a romantic thriller with comic moments. It is the remake of a French movie entitled Anthony Zimmer. On this page, learn a bit more about The Tourist.

The Tourist Story Reviewed in 100 Words or Less

The Tourist follows the story of an American named Frank who has a broken heart and who is visiting Italy. Frank, a sort of ordinary man a math professor, becomes entangled with a elegant and sophisticated English woman named Elise who is trying to fool the individuals who are following her lover. Frank is interested in romance but instead is caught in a 'game.'

I had high, all right, huge expectations of this movie. I do love almost everything that Johnny Depp is in and I love films shot in other countries so Venice earned the movie extra points. However, I will admit I was slightly disappointed. Do not get me wrong, The Tourist is an enjoyable movie but just not the best-ever Johnny Depp movie.

The first review is a Youtube video from Jeremy Jahns. His reviews are sometimes a little off color; but I appreciate them and, if you don't mind an occasional swear word and off-color reference, you might enjoy them, too.

I didn't know much about this movie, but now I want to see it. Angeline Jolie just looks stunning. She gets more beautiful with every year, but it looks like she has acquired that Sophia Loren / Gina Lolobrigida look in this movie. It's worth watching just for her. Lensrolled to and featured on my Angelina Jolie Movies And Collectibles lens, and a Blessing coming your way too.

Something else we have in common I guess... I too am a huge Johnny Dep fan. I mean - he's beautiful (won't use cute for this guy) as well as a great actor. I do mean one of the absolute best. And funny too. What more can you want in a movie star? Will definitely be putting this on my must-have DVD list.

This looks like my kind of movie. I enjoy this type of suspense, a bit of romance, and a couple of very "pretty" faces! Love the Venice setting, too. And I want Angelina's wardrobe! (Not sure what I'd do with it, but just sayin'.)
