Graco Recall

The Graco stroller recall for January 2010 include the passage, alano and spree strollers and travel system. The recalled graco models were made between October 2004 and February 2008. The reason for the graco recall is the hinges on the stroller's canopy pose a danger of injury to children's fingers. These could be cuts, bruises and amputation on the fingers. It is said that Graco received 7 reports of children placing their fingers in a canopies hinge while the canopy is being opened or closed.

The recalled Graco strollers were sold at Babies R' Us, Toys R' Us, Kmart, Sears, Target, Walmart, AAFES, Burlington Coat factory, Meijer, Fred meyer, Navy exchange, and other retailers nationwide. Only strollers or travel system containing a palstic, jointed hinge mechanism are affected. The model number and manufacture dates can be found on the lower insider portion of the rear frame. If you have one of the problem strollers, stop using it and order a repair kit from graco at 800-345-4109. Graco says the repair kit is available in 1 to 2 weeks. The kit comes along with the instructional video and the video explains how to attach the kit properly. It is interesting to note that about 1.5 million stroller units are affected by Graco stroller recall.
