Great Websites for New and Expecting Moms
Being a first time mom is overwhelming, even before the baby is born. Worries and fears flood your brain day after day almost from the very beginning. You worry about being a good parent. You worry about finances. You worry about getting pregnant, being pregnant, going into labor and what happens when the little one is born. You'll ask yourself questions like what formula should I use? Should I use formula? Breastfeed? Or both? What's a better brand of diapers? How will I pay for all the things I need? Should I start considering their future? I could continue, but that would take a whole hub to list the worries and fears of a first time mother.
One of the greatest things to have when you're pregnant for the first time is support from your friends and family, especially if any of them have had children. I was lucky enough to have a sister that only had a baby a year prior to my pregnancy. Her advice was so helpful for me. The best things she's given me are websites that are such valuable resources. These sites are filled with information on pregnancy, after pregnancy, money matters, and everything you're probably thinking about already. Most require you to sign up but the registrations for these sites are free, so why not give them a try?
Most of them will send you coupons and free samples in the mail or by email. Some have contests that offer college grants as the prize. While others offer super discounts in their online shops. They're definitely worth looking into.
Products I Prefer for my Infant
Enfamil is a brand of formula most recommended by Pediatricians. This formula has stages from newborn to toddler. Each stage has different types of formula according to your baby's individual needs. For example, there is Enfamil Gentlease for baby's who experience fussiness and gas, there is also Enfamil A.R. for baby's who spit up frequently, and there are others. This brand in my opinion is the best. It works well for women who are both breast and bottle feeding. The Enfamil website has online articles filled with useful advice and tips, as well as an online shop and mobile apps. The navigation bar on the top of the page works in stages from newborn to toddler, like their product, to help you easily find information and products you're looking for. They also offer a product finder, which will help you narrow down what type of formula your baby should use. Finally, they have a program called Enfamil Family Beginnings which will send you monthly emails containing staged informative articles, offers and free samples. You can receive up to $250 in gifts and savings. Registration is free.
Enfamil is my preference of formula as I said but if Enfamil isn't your preference of formula, you can also check out Similac's Website. They offer much of the same features as the Enfamil website and they also have their own benefits program which they call Similac Strong Moms. Registration is free.
Huggies is a popular brand of diapers. This too is my preferred brand. Their diapers range from newborn (with the umbilical cord cut-outs) to toddler. They have a wide variety of products to suit your baby's individual needs and yours. For example, Huggies offers Little Swimmers for your swimming toddler, Little Movers for infants on the go and the new pull up diapers which are meant to make changing a breeze for parents on the go. The Huggies website offers articles on everything diapering and potty training, as well as feeding and nesting, sleeping and much more. They also have a staged navigation bar ranging from pregnancy to toddler. They have a product finder feature to help you locate the product you're interested in easily. They also have offer a promotions and rewards feature for members of the site. Their promotions feature can get you coupons, discounts online and free samples. And the rewards feature allows you to both win and earn reward points which you can use on products for you or your baby in the Huggies Rewards Catalog. When you register you'll also receive emails for every stage of your pregnancy and your child's development. These emails will contain information, offers, and coupons. Registration for the site is free.
If Huggies isn't your preferred brand, you can check out Pamper's Website. They also offer informative articles, an online shop and promotions and rewards feature for members. Sign up for the Pampers Village is free.
Gerber is a well-known brand. They offer products from newborns all the way to preschool: formula, baby food, snacks, food and drinks for toddlers. They also have insurance called Gerber Life which I'll discuss later. The Gerber website, offers informative articles on everything feeding, nutrition and diet. Their navigation bar is staged, like both Enfamil and Huggies websites, ranging from pregnancy to preschooler. They have an online shop with an easy to use product search feature. Gerber also has a program called Start Healthy, Stay Healthy which you can register for. This will grant you access to tools and videos, informative articles, monthly emails, offers, coupons and much more. Registration is free.
Johnsons & Johnsons has been around for decades; it is a brand of baby skin care products. They are by far the best in my opinion. The offer everything from lotion, shampoo and body wash to bubble bath, oil and powder. Johnsons is so popular that many adults use their products. The Johnsons Website features tons of informative articles, an online shop, a baby care library and a Mom to Mom feature that allows Moms to share stories and advice with one another. Johnsons also has a program called Johnsons By Your Side which will allow you to receive emails containing information, special offers and downloadable guides. Upon registration you'll be asked to fill out an optional survey for a chance to win $1000. Registration is free.

Family Planning & Money Matters Websites
Planning Family is a great site my sister told me about. They are loaded with great features and are a valuable resource for any new mom. This site features tons of informative articles, a week by week pregnancy guide and a week by week baby guide for after you bring your little one home. They have a parenting blog, Ask an expert and fun tools like an ovulation calculator, baby name finder and Gender predictor. They also have free baby stuff, coupons and more money saving features. Parents is a great site, similar to Planning Family. They offer tons of great parenting information beginning with pregnancy and birth. They offer quizzes, polls, forums and other fun tools. Parents is also the home to the well known parenting magazines called Parents and American Baby which you can subscribe to from the website. Currently they have a 2 years free offer, which gives you 2 years free subscription on top of a one year paid subscription (3 for the price of one basically). Parents also offers many contests and sweepstakes you can enter to win cash and prizes. Like Planning Family, they too have blogs, deals and free stuff. Sign up to receive free email newsletters containing information, updates and great parenting advice. Registration is free. You can also connect with parents on facebook and twitter.
Earlier I mentioned that Gerber also has an insurance company called Gerber Life. If you're concerned about your child's future, than this is a site you should check out. They offer many different types of insurance, but specialize in policies for children. The two policies you'll want to look at are the Grow Plan and/or the College Plan. They offer low premiums that do not change and both policies double when your child reaches a certain age. These policies are also very flexible giving you and, once he or she is an adult, your child full control of the policy. Their website has a blog, free newsletter and allows you to easily request information on any of their policies by filling out a simple form. You can start investing in your child's future as soon as they're born. It's worth taking a look. My husband and I are considering the College Plan.
Totsy is a private shopping site that offers awesome deals on quality items for parents and kids. As a member you'll gain access to brand-specific sales up to 90% off. They offer products such as: products for pregnancy, baby gear, bedding and bath, children's clothing, toys, and educational materials. As a member you'll also get $15 for each person you invite to sign up. You'll also receive emails about their daily deals. They also have a fun parenting blog and meet the moms page. You can request a membership for free.
I research pregnancy and parenting daily and will add more sites to this hub as I find them. Currently these are my favorites and most valuable. If you have any websites you like, please feel free to comment and let me know. Thanks for reading!
