The Importance of Making Your Child Feel Special
Make Them Or Break Them
A child's self worth is very detrimental to their growth and development. When children feel unworthy they tend to pull away from people and have a hard time believing in themselves. It is very important that we go out of our ways to make our children feel special. Their self-esteem can either make them or break them.

Let Them Know How Special They Are
Never make your child feel unworthy, always let them know just how special they are to you, praise them every chance you get. Spending more quality time with your child is all they really need to feel special and wanted. Building your child's self-worth up is one of the most important things you can do for them.
Listen to Them
Children love to talk sometimes they talk so much they lose track about what they where talking about to begin with. But that does not mean we should not listen to them. Sometimes mixed in with some of the mumble jumble they are talking you even get a few important tidbits of information. You would be amazed some of the stuff a child can talk about if you actually listen to them, they just want to be heard.
Show Them Affection
Children tend to be very lovable they not only want our love and affection but need it. A child from an affectionate home is usually very confident and friendly in nature. If a child does not get love at home they tend to go out and try to find love in different sometimes negative ways. Do not push your child away when they come up to hug you this is their way of letting you know they love you. I understand when your busy sometimes you want to be left alone but please for your child let them hug you it only takes a second.
Have Family Fun Night
Kids love to play and love it even more if you join them. Plan a family fun night together with your children do this at least once a week. Make sure you let them help plan it. This makes them feel super confident in their ability to plan and manage things. Which helps build up their self-esteem.
Never Let Your Child Put Themselves Down
Kids tend to be pretty hard on themselves which is why they do not need anyone else doing it. When your child says things like I am so stupid or I am so ugly. Make sure you chime right in by telling them not to put themselves down. Let them know they are the exact opposite of that.
Making your child feel worthy is not that hard you just have to put a little extra effort into making sure they feel loved and confident in whom they are and what they can accomplish.
