Top 10 toys for toddlers 2016

Updated on November 9, 2015

In this article we will be taking a look at the top 10 toys for toddlers. Some of these toys are intended to be both educational and fun, while others are great for stimulating a toddler's imagination.

LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table

Age: 6 months to 3 years

The musical table has many activities and sounds, this makes it less annoying than toys that only makes one sound. This table is made from sturdy hard plastic and it can take the standard abuse toddlers dish out, to their toys.

The musical table can be used with or without it's legs. Using the legs gives toddlers who are just starting to stand up a motivation to get up there, to play with the toy.

LeapFrog has a good reputation in the toy industry as a company which makes quality educational toys that are also a lot of fun for toddlers.

Fisher-Price Super Friends Batcave

Age: 2.5 to 7 years

The bat cave set is a very cool toy for young boys. It comes with robin, batman, the bat-computer, the bat motor cycle, Robin's staff/hook and 2 batarangs.

The bat cave has an elevator that stops on all three floors and goes through a hatch on the roof, a slide out rock panel that hides a platform with missile launcher, a front gateway, a side hatch with ramp for the bat-cycle, a see through prison cell, side stairs to a side entrance on the second floor, a winch with hook, ladders, staircases and more.

All in all a really fun toy set, one which will make you want to join in.

Corolle Tidoo Suce Pouce in Pajamas

Age: 18 months to 4 years

Toddlers do seem to related better to these toddler dolls. They realize that it's a toy of that looks like a baby and they spend more time playing with and taking care of it.

This is currently the best selling toddler doll and it is great for parents because you can put it through the washing machine for an easy clean.

Lego Duplo set

Age: 18 months to 5 years

These Lego Duplo blocks are bigger than standard Lego blocks for tiny hands to play with.

This is a nice large starter set, for creative toddlers.

Here's a tip: If your Duplo blocks get dirty, put them through the dishwasher for a quick clean.

Rock, Roll 'N Ride Trike

Age: 18 months to 5 years

Every toddler should have a tricycle and this is one of the best. The tricycle has a push bar, so you can push them around until their legs are strong enough to propel it themselves. Interestingly the push bar can be folded underneath the toy turning it into a rocking toy.

This tricycle is not prone to tipping over, which is a problem with some of the other ones.

Little ladies love to pretend that they are older. With this toy purse they can pretend to be just like mommy.

The purse comes with plush toy keys, mobile phone, lipstick, wallet with debit card and a unbreakable mirror.

Little Tikes EasyScore Basketball Set

Age: 18 months to 5 years

This is one of the best sports toys for toddlers, in my opinion. They can play with this hoop set for hours.

This toy is great for improving your toddler's motor skills and hand to eye coordination. It's both sturdy and durable.

This set is made right here in the USA from recycled materials.

Melissa & Doug 60-Piece Standard Unit Blocks

Age: 2.5 to 7 years

This huge wooden block set is great for imaginative toddlers. You won't find a quality set with this selection of sizes and shapes, for this price, anywhere else.

The workmanship of these blocks is such that you will be able to pass the set on to the next generation.

Baby's First Blocks

Age: 6 months to 3 years

This is the classic 'fit the right shapes through the right hole' game we all love. I still remember playing with a similar toy when I was very young.

When I play with my toddler she really focuses and we get the shapes into the toy together. She looks so proud of herself when she gets them right. Both the shape of the blocks and their bright colors appeal to her.
