Welcome to life my child.

I'm a man swelling with pride and joy right now (Stevie Ray Vaughn anyone?). With the announcement of my baby on the way I couldn't help but want to commemorate this with a poem.

God has blessed us so much with this and it's definitely a redemption from things that have happened in my very very dark and sordid past. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be the father that mine wouldn't.........well it was 13 years ago....and I lost him, my brother and 3 sisters because of a hard decision (not deceased that I know of but something else). Anyway, I hope you enjoy this.

For kellyteam, 10 minute hub?

My heart on a platter.

I've been waiting for a long long time.......

To see your heart beat next to mine.

Now with this, I can't ignore

What I've been put here for.

I will never leave your side

As my own dad did mine.....

My baby.

I know what I've been put here for

Arms wide open for support.

It's so funny, don't you know,

My old life ended long ago.

Many years I walked in darkness.

Having all that I ever wanted.

But that was all just a lie,

Full of hate and not alive.

Thank you God for your front door,

That gave me life when I was poor.

I'm so much stronger than before.

I know now why I survived.

To welcome this life into the world.

To love, protect, bless, and hold.

This young child of mine

I will never leave your side.

For the Lord has shown the way

I'm to love you every day.

Evil will never come near

Because Daddy is always here.

Never turning you away,

Live my child....love every day.

Did your heart leap for joy when you saw your child on Ultrasound for the first time?

Final thoughts.

Excitement abounds.

Kasman will be back with another hub soon.

Thanks so much for your concern about this Wrylilt. My wife and I have discussed it and we think we're going to pass on this. And yet they continue to bang away at our door and mailbox with requests to do it. If I didn't know better, it's almost like we're semi-forced into saying yes. Forget it. Thanks alot for stopping in!

Congratulations! I saw your comment on the cord blood bank hub. I just thought I'd drop by and make sure you're aware of the risks of cord blood banking, so you get both sides of the story.

I appreciate your heart about what was written jseven. I'm very serious about taking care of my upcoming daughter. I definitely want to raise her in the ways of the Lord and with, hopefully, great wisdom. God bless and I thank you for your amazingly kind comment.

How heartfelt and meaningful! I love how you took a dark past with obvious hurts and let the Lord redeem your pain. Life is a spiral of joys, sorrows and repentance all the way to heaven, but with God's grace, we get through it all. Children are truly a gift of the womb and your child and wife are very blessed to have such a man after God like you. May you always seek His face and have the peace that passes all understanding. xx

Thank you so much Carly. I'm touched that it blessed your life as well. We've found out most recently that it's a baby girl and we're ecstatic. She jumps all the time when she hears daddy's voice talking or singing to her. Exciting stuff to say the least. Thanks for stopping in and commenting!

I am humbled by your words. This brought tears to my eyes. I remember feeling similar feelings when I found out I was pregnant for the first time. Such an amazing gift from God, and I was chosen to be a mother to this little one, me! I look at my two kids today and thank God everyday for this amazing blessing and awesome gift and responsibility I was given.

Congratulations! Your ability to express your emotions so well will aid you and your family by being a steward of healthy emotions, honesty, and a man of faith.

Thank you sgbrown. I appreciate the kudos and encouragement. I know what happened was a very big deal but The Lord has allowed things to shape my future. My little girl is going to be influenced by a father who loves her with everything and also a Father in Heaven who will adore her every step. Thanks alot!

It sounds like you have had a difficult past, but remember that things happen for a reason. I'm sure you have learned much from your past. Perhaps this happened to make you the wonderful father that I know you will be! Keep God in your life and everything will be just fine. This is a beautiful poem, almost brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations! Voted up and awesome! :)

I think you're right about just loving them. I'm sure we as parents tend to make things a lot more complicated, but God isn't complicated. He just wants us to love him and love people. The complication is in the implementation. Thanks for the stop by mel.

As a father of two I have experienced the emotions you are feeling. When I saw my first son for the first time I cried like a baby. Now he's 21 as of two days ago but that birth moment is still clear in my head as if it was yesterday. I wish there were hard and fast rules to Fatherhood that would guarantee success but there aren't any. Just love them and in the end everything will be fine. God bless.

Kas, you already are there for your child. The love you have right now will only grow over time. Your child has a good foundation and you have a good purpose. That equation spells unconditional, everlasting love.

Have you thought of names? Is your baby a boy or a girl?

Thank you so much Bravewarrior. I'm just blown away by the whole thing. "Really Lord, me....a father, what a sense of humor you must have."

Surprised is definitely the word for me right now so I can understand how you feel.

It's quite the treat to be given the opportunity to love a child when so many don't have fathers that would love them. I pray that I can be everything my child needs and more. Thank you so much for stopping by and for gracing my hubstep with your presence.

Kas, this is such a beautiful tribute to your child and to your renewal of self. Be sure and read this to your baby when he or she is old enough.

I opted not to have an ultrasound when I was pregnant. Almost 21 years ago I was blessed with and surprised by a baby boy.

Congratulations to you and your wife. Your journey is taking a new turn.

Well Sunshine, I wouldn't have figured you for a grandmother. You look too young for that! On the first ultrasound, my baby jumped when it heard my voice the first time. I was enamored from that moment on. Thanks so much for your comments!

Congratulations Kas and wife on your baby news! Ultrasounds weren't around when I had my kids, that I knew of, but the first time I saw my grandbabies on ultrasound I was "Yeah Buddy, that's my grandchild!"

Beautiful poem that I'm sure your child will appreciate one day.
