The first thing you want to check are the rules of the airline on which the child will be flying.  Most have a minimum age for unaccompanied minors.

Most airlines would not allow a 10-year-old to fly unaccompanied as far as I know. She will probably someone at least 18 years old to escort her. You will need to check the policies of individual airlines.

It could be done, but in these days and times would you really want to?  10-yrs-old is too young, Keep in mind, the airlines lose luggage.  They also are known to lose pets.
